Here's a link to a PDF of the M05ra instruction manual. It'll give you some idea of what you need and how to put it together.

The gold standard for minis is the Hobbywing EZRun 13T system. It's cheap, extremely reliable and has good distribution and support. Part number is 81030020.

You should be fine Jase, you just need an AM Receiver that matches
your AM Transmitter along with matching crystals (same frequencies,
sorry its 6am here!)
Actually know a few driver that still use AM and even FM transmitters
for their cars!
Its all about having fun with what you got

Beat you to it? Locally we have a 1200g minimum weight rule. Just finished taking off unnecessary weight and optimization. I installed shorter titanium screws wherever possible, taking off the sway bars (ride height around 4mm, too much play before swaybar takes effect), and running a single screw directly over the steering post. I bet I could go lower with a low profile servo and composite knuckles.

I used a Venom 4000 20c Lipo sport pack at the NW TCS regional a couple weeks ago. Now granted, that was with a silver can, but round-case sport packs are super cheap and work just fine for mini, no matter what motor.

The HOBBYWING combos are available all over. Try Hobbypartz if in the US.

Has anyone run the Tamiya Mini JCW coupe body on a M03L? Will it fit?
It seems like it would, but it only shows it being compatible with the M05's, just wanted to check before I order one. Thanks!

Yes and yes. Nice body that requires a little more work than the usual. The front "splitter" needs reinforcement and the rear wing is a little tricky to get right. Don't short cut or leave any of the parts out or you'll wind up with a fragile rear wing.

It feels as if the body gives a bit more steering than the BMW or the 2006 Cooper S. If you don't bend the splitter, it's a very consistent body without any undesirable characteristics.

I'm looking forward to seeing how it runs compared to my hopped up M05

I've found the M03's are still just as competitive as the M05's. I love my 03.

Yes, that's so true. It's not a new or particularly enlightened revelation however. Most of the racers in our local area prefer the M03. I think that Mark Brown in your area runs the 03.

The new TCS Spec tire has narrowed the "gap" between the 03 and the 05 locally. Here at the Tamiya USA track, the guys are having to make a tough decision. The consensus seems to be that the M05 is the easier car to drive, but the M03 might be quicker.

What's really interesting is that there are 3 guys who are more "dialed" than the rest of us. 2 of the 3 are using the LWB car. That's probably a more interesting conundrum than the 03 05 debate, which has been discussed ad nauseum on this thread before.
