on the pro4 the diff is built with 2 bearing inside the diff gear.
see page 14 of the Hara Pro4 manual. can be downloaded from
the Europe hpi website.

on the cyclone it has only 1 bearing between 2 spacers. when you stack them up they are not equal to 2 bearing. and part of the diff support extends out.

haven't seen the manual posted anywhere yet..


after several packs of test runs.. I have to say the car is very impressive..more so than my Hara Pro4. Car carries alot of corner speed, lots of steering.

If you guys need a base asphalt/rubber tire set up try Hara's base set-up found on the HPI Japan site..it's right on the money.

Yes, it uses Pro 4 wishbones, rear hubs, c-hubs, steering knuckles, toe blocks, and a few other minor bits and pieces.

I got most of the build done last night, the quality of the parts is impressive, and it is a very easy build, but I also noticed as many other people have that the rear diff has a lot of play in the pulley, has anyone found a fix to this yet? I did use 2 bearings instead of the bearing and 2 spacers as Zombies suggested, and I also tried a few other combinations and nothing got rid of the play. Having said that, it doesn't seem to make any difference to the performance of the diff, it seems nice and smooth and tight too.

Another issue I had, after looking at the instructions a few times, and the ammendment sheet in the manual (yes, I got one in mine!) was that the one-way pulley seems to rub slightly on the spur gear plate, or more specifically the screws. I'm not sure whether it's because I used my titanium screws on it or not, but all the other screws are flush to the carbon fibre and these ones seem to stick out a bit. Has anyone else had this issue?

So far I am quite impressed by the build quality of the kit, but the drivetrain doesn't seem very free, but maybe that's just because I'm used to the freeness of the Pro 4

Usually a brandnew belt drivetrain needs some runs to be broken in. Then itīs much more free than before.

Recieved my Ti Racing spool and driveshafts today. The quality is great and the drive shafts are far lighter than the stock ones. If anyone is thinking about buting them then they get my vote.
