Funny you mention that. I have heard people complain about the same thing. I love the 510 body, but don't want to run it as I do not like the 2 piece body!! I went ahead and purchased a Tamiya Mini Cooper to run in the meantime and I went ahead and bought a set of Tamiya M chassis rims and tires just in case..... I found the overall diameter to be the same between the Tamiya and HPI tires so I think the problem with the stock 510 setup is the fact that the rear rims are 3mm offset. Grab yourself a pair of 0 offset for the rears and it should be fine!!

#4560 X-Pattern Radial Mini Tire (B15-40)
Currently we have the #3630 Mini Star Wheels and we are in the process of trying to get some more of the OZ ish spoke/center dish mini wheels.
The Cup Racer wheels/tires are not compatible with the "standard" Mini tires/wheels

...the +3 offset looks way better and you can run the car with them, just not recommended for "spirited" runs or competition. If we had included 0 offset wheels then we'd have 510 guys telling us the rear end looks weird ..

why not look into a castle sensorless motor in a package combo? any reason why the novak over the castle? not that there is anything wrong with the novak motor - just asking because you might get a better deal getting a package from either company

HPI Honda Civic EK9 225mm body w/ ABC mesh wheels and tires.
I have to admit the car was a pain to put together but with patience the car will go together well. The CR is very competitive against the ABC Genetics mini here where I race in Socal. I almost gave up on the car to buy an ABC but gave it time and I am very happy with the results of the car. I have only broken one front hub carrier by brushing up against the wall and have been racing with it for almost 3 months. Hope my set-up will help others....Good luck fellow CR owners and have fun...I know I am!

My Cup racer option spring set came in so I want to go back to the HPI Cup arcer shocks again soon. 1/10 springs on the car a little too firm- a little too much tire hop right now.
Here it is in action;
