After a really, really pants time out at the UK Nationals this weekend I am seriously in need of a boost. Hopefully the RSD chassis will be it

A question regarding springs.
When I read the comments I see you use 13.5lb-15.5lb on asphalt. Now I went through some other top drivers set-ups and see many top people use the HPI silver front and rear that's almost 17lb! And this were setups from ETS Gran Canaria where the traction was more towards low grip.
I spoke to a driver who told me that harder springs have the tendency to get the tires on temperature more quickly. But other ways I know that softer springs should provide a little more overall grip.

Softer springs do give more grip, but it depends on the track. If the track has much "natural" grip you can go harder on the springs, because else it can "stick" when making turns.

I know what you mean but these days it's just hard to find the right way with this chassis flex options combined with stiffness of the suspension.

There are a couple of things you can do.
1.clean your dcjs with motor spray before you install the set screw.
2.use blue loctite on the clean parts. I recently have found It is best if you apply it on the barrel instead of the screw. Let it cure 30 mins at least before installing the screw.
3.use a very high quality driver. This way you can crank down the set screw without stripping it.
4.if this is not enough, you can slot the pin a bit. This makes them slightly weaker, but it can help the pins from coming out.
5.shrink wrap always helps keeping them together as well.
6.as a last resort, red loctite. It will still come off, but you need a really good driver.

RSD cleaned up at Jackson RC's 4th annual Memorial Day Race yesterday. Jeff Cuffs TQ'd and won Stock TC, and I TQ'd and won Mod TC. Both of us ran the new DCJs and spool cups. Good stuff

Christian is there a chance that you extend your range of high quality springs with 17.5 and 18.5?

This weekend I tried my standard set-up RSD 15,5/14,5 vs. RIDE – Red (approx. 16,9 lb/in all around) on a medium grip asphalt track. The car felt much more stable under braking and acceleration with harder Ride springs. Times were almost the same just that it was much easier to go consistent over a whole run.
