Sure i'll take a look, but normally when I travel to other tracks from LRH, I need to change a lot in setup. But its worth a look. I just am basically interested to know what shock oil and springs people are using. The kit doesnt feel right.

I've been experimenting with two red pads, and one white, and I've also tried using the FR4 pads for the avid setup. I'm thinking FR4 pads with the vented KYO slipper plates might last longer with less fade.
I never liked the schelle slipper in mod for that very reason. those pads get hot. I stick with stock slippers in all my mod cars. Only run aftermarket in stock to reduce weight.

...especially if you use some option parts such as aluminum rear hangers. A little bit of searching online helped me with that.

thanks
The aluminum hangers have a chart in the package that shows what to run to achieve what degree of toe. Comparing that to a couple of Tebo setup sheets helped.

6.6 chassis is 40 grams heavier than a 6.0 lightweight chassis.

I found that I can't run the esc on the shelf because my body doesn't clear it. I dunno I'll try post a few photos soon.

I've seen guys mount the speed control on the battery strap where it will fit under the cab of the body. Then you could move the battery all the way back. You might also mount the speed control on it side against the servo to make space.
What you have might be fine though. It just looks like a lot of weight on the front end.

The main part of a 6.6 chassis is .010" thicker than a standard 6.0 chassis. Guys running a laydown in a 6.0 might take note of this because the mounting surfaces are different. You should run a .3mm shim under the front mounting screws to match the 6.6 chassis.
I know it's not much and might not make a difference. Just pointing it out.

I honestly don't believe the 6.6 chassis has more flex than a 6.0. Especially one that has been modified for sideways battery. This thing is thicker and heavier and more rigid.
I feel like reducing chassis flex is their goal because the only use for the block on the battery strap as far as I can tell is to limit chassis flex.

Now I really don't want to mill this lightweight chassis because it is so thin I'm afraid it will fold into a taco...

Thanks John, I haven't done the math but I thought perhaps since the KYO slipper is only 2 pads, the avid might be close with 3. This is one of the things I like on the Xray, the stock slipper is a massive three pad system.

I agree, LRH to OCRC to SCVRC I usually want to change a bit. SCVRC has such high traction, if I was still racing there often I'd have some pretty major changes. Surprisingly LRH to OCRC wasn't as drastic for me. The RB6.6 is so well balanced that changing tires got me 90% there. I didn't change my shock package or springs. The real test will be when I come back to LRH.

My shock package is:
Front:
Gold Springs (I ran Red at SCVRC)
400 KYO/1.3x3 VRP Pistons

Rear:
350 KYO/1.6x2 VRP Pistons
Gold Springs

I should note that my lap times aren't quite on pace at OCRC yet, but perhaps that's me. It is close though, I can get into the mid to high 19seconds on the surf city layout. Plenty of guys in the 18s range though. I think my slipper was part of my issue here, lots of fade.

Can you PM me your email? I'll send you a full setup sheet. The Chris Jarousz setup is also very good. I hope I spelled that right.

Let me know if I can help

Finally starting my 6.6 build. 2 full sets of ball cups!? Who does that? I keep hearing that KYO is too expensive but Kashima coated shocks in the box? C'mon.... that's quality.
They need to pony up and get Tessman or Rivken or Phend on board and see how popular they become.

Haha! Made it all the way to step 2!!
The instructions are all kinds of screwed up when you add the aluminum steering rack and support....

Looks like you ditch the 1mm shims under the rack to run the support and shim to feel? The instructions with the support show the 1mm spacers above the rack. Seems like the shims should be under the rack otherwise the arms rub on the bulkhead.
I wonder how the steering geometry is truly intended to be or if it really matters....

Actually Kyosho calls them velvet coated, been including them in kits for years, since the RB5 that is at least.
Kyosho has a pretty talented team, that Tebo guy comes to mind, TQ at worlds. Many many others, Matt Chambers, Joe Pillars, Chris Jarosz, Cody King, Elliott Boots, and Naoto Matsukura just to name a few.
Kyosho is in good hands!

Stock setup with 32.5 front/30 rear, stock springs, ballstud collars, everything is stock and the car is really good. Everyone who has driven it likes how balanced it is as a laydown car. I rear mounted the shocks cause the rear end gets skiddish on clay witht hem mounted front, but the car is stock, and is very good. I may not change much at all for the time being since i'm not travelling to run anywhere else for the next few months.

Oh I agree and I'm a huge fan of all of them but you can't deny that Kyosho's presence in 1/10 scale offroad in the USA is lacking.

You know how kids are. They want to be like the cool kids. They buy what the cool kids have. Cody King is our only cool kid in the top 25 and he's a 1/8 scale specialist.
Tebo is my favorite driver but it's partly because I'm also a dad and not a cool kid....
