I have noticed looking at a few setup sheets that some guys are running a little toe out. Anyone want to expand as to why?

I tried schreffs setup with jacos as well. I couldn't do a thing to get the car hooked. As soon as I put parmas on it was on rails. Try magentas up front and cyans in the rear.

Hello guys,

Just finished building my JRXS Type R and have some questions about it:

+ i notice there is some horizontal play in the lower suspension arms on the long hinge pins. Does everybody shim this out or is it supposed to be like that ?

+ the wheel axles stick out quite a bit after you put on the wheelnut. Does everybody sand them down so they are flat with the wheelnut ?

One bad thing about my kit. It has 1 shock shaft that is not 27 mm long but only 23.4 mm. So i can not finish the car.

Yes shim out your hinge pins and your kingpins if necessary.

I would grind (sanding will take forever) those axles down not doing so has caused many drivers some big finishes!

Hey guys. Been running stock with my Type R and have been very happy with it. In trying to get ready for the Carpet Nats I started Playing with a 17.5 today. Great punch but no top end. I'm figuring I'm still too undergeared. I think the tallest I was able to get in the car was a 118/47 or 48. I can't move the motor any further back so I am debating about picking up a PRS spur gear adaptor and dropping down to a 110 or so. Anyone else run a 17.5 as of yet in the Type R? Matt, since the race is going to be at your home track do you have any gearing suggestions?

Get the PRS adaptor to be able to run smaller spurs, that's the only way to hit the gearing you'll need with the 17.5. I'm running 13.5 rubber so i'm not alot of help with the exact gearing you'll need but you better have some big pinions I switched over to the PRS adaptor tonight so I have some more gearing leverage if I need it.

I have been runing rubber tire with a 17.5, and found a 104 to 108 spur was best to get high rollouts...depending on track size u will need between 45 and 50 with that spur sizze.

Thanks guys. I'm used to running the Tamiya GT3/Mabuchi class so I have up to 51T pinions. I'll have to see if I can't get my hands on that adapter somewhere
