ok guys i have a quick one to ask.
i just got the lrp sphere tc spec..i know i have read this in here somewhere.but is what i want to know is ratio for running the 13.5 motor.
the orion one.and how i should figure it out.i remember seeing that it should be between a 4.6-4.8
i went to gearchart.com and looked around.for me to run a 128 spur and to get a 4.73 i would need a 49 pinion gear and that seemed to be pretty high for gearing.
guys that use the type-r at our local track are gearing like a 41 tooth with the 128 and that ratio said it was like 5.7 i think.
lmk if any of you could so i know to gear this thing right.
thx,
matt

is this the novak 13.5? i've run my novak 13.5 w/ standard sintered rotor as low as 4.5. i used to run it right around 4.8 but got adventureous one day and went lower. it was perfectly fine and fast as hell.

I've put a GTB without heatsink or fan while running lipo/13.5 and so far so good.

Just gear the 13.5 for the track. I am running an FDR of 5.9:1, but the local track is very technical with only a short straight. Tried gearing up, but didn't improve times, just got the motor hotter and hotter. If the guys at your track are running an FDR of 5.7, then start off there and work around.

Just gear the 13.5 for the track. I am running an FDR of 5.9:1, but the local track is very technical with only a short straight. i will try the 4.69 and see how it compares to the other cars out there..
