I am considering upgrading from my b44.3 to the XB4. With the recent release of the 2017 version of the XB2 do you think a new 4wd version is coming soon? Does xray have a consistent timing of new releases?

Maybe there will be some composite arms in the box as an added bonus

Its sounding like the xb/xt's are first, then a new XB/DE, then the newer XB4. Its still the fastest 4wd on the planet. Why mess with perfection?

i believe bent said they're coming soon, but i'm not positive.

but i have a feeling they either wont change a thing or update very few parts. maybe some option parts or some prototype parts the team used on the xb4, again not sure

Now that I've decided on this car, it sucks that I have to wait a little longer to see if anything is released.

I sure hope they release the new car in nearest 3 weeks on time to assemble it for EOS RD2 (18-20th November). I still have the '15 so I need an upgrade, but buying the '16 now just weeks from the release would suck.

i've seen the xray team say something like this...

"now that we have the fastest 4wd on the planet, this gives us some time to shift our focus on other platforms that have more room for improvement."

that quote, and understanding that other manufacturers only release cars every 2-3 years, XRAY knows they have some time, i think right now it would be tough to change much on that car. but maybe in another year there will be enough solid ideas to implement and improvement.

so i dont see the car changing, like i said if it does change i think it will be just a couple of minor parts that the team runs on the existing car.

but obviously this is speculation...

I would just get the 16 you will be very happy i came from the kyosho platform and couldnt be happier with this buggy, if there is a 17 it will be a few parts you can upgrade to but theres really nothing needed.

I would wait till the '17 is released either way. If there's enough new stuff on it that you like then get that, if not, you probably can get a better deal on the '16. I remember Stormer Hobbies selling their stock of '14 for like $100 off when the '15s came out.

the release could be a few weeks away or it could be a few months away, or it could just be the same model into 2018. if someone needs a car there's no reason to wait months and sacrifice that racing when it's the current top car. if there's a few upgrades, so be it...get them when they come out.

a buddy of mine just purchased the 2016 model...only way you should wait is if you have a current 4wd and aren't in any immediate need.

I Agree, he said he has the '15 already that's why I suggested waiting.

I have the '16 also and I can't imagine what they would change on it.
