Hey there,

I do have a question about the braking performance of the Hobbywing controller.

I am using the Hobbywing XERUN V3.1 with latest level of Firmware in my XB4 with 7T motor without issues and also in my T4 touring car with 13,5T engine.

Unfortunately the touring car has nearly no braking power when coming from high speeds. The braking power is set to 100%. I have to say, that I changed the motor and also the power cap of the controller at the same time, as I misconnected the power connection.
Now I observed, that the power cap differs from that, which is connected in the XB4, which is still the original one. According to my local dealer, that red one is the part to use.

Does anyone have any experiences with exchanging the power caps and any possible relation to break performance? Is the power cap the right part?

Is there any other root cause possible for missing brake performance?

For a better understanding, here is a picture of the exchanged cap:

And the original one:

Thanks a lot for support.

Hello,
I run a 4.5 Motor and I am a little bit lost !!!
which timming and ratio do you recomend?
What punch makes? and how works the 2 stage of punch, where do you feel them?
If we want a smoother power in bottom and more top speed what should we change in the speedo?
Which is the maximun timming recomend?
Between which rpm you work with the boost?
How do you get medium power?

Thank you for your help

I've bought a v2.1 90A Xerun for my son and have tried to program it using the v3.4 software upgrade from the website. When trying to program the esc from the program box, I'm only getting standard setting, not the turbo & boost etc. The firmware it's giving me are versions v1.11_120331_v3 or v1.08_120504. Can someone point me in the right direction where I might find it ?
Thanks

Angelo means you need to load the V1.08_120504 software onto your esc. Most of the softwares are shorted to the final three digits, hence "504". The names themselves are actually the dates.. so 120504 is 4th May 2012.

When I switch the program box on its the right software, but when I press R/P it says v1.10_090205_MOD but still doesn't show any more setting. Am I doing something wrong ?

Hi guys

Ive had some enquiries on how to limit the kick from the turbo so it is not so aggressive from boost to turbo.

You must overlap the boost and the turbo by 1000 rpm which means the boost end rpm is for example is 13000 you will need to start your turbo at 12000 and activation must be full th and rpm .

How is the 3.1 1s Roar approval coming along?

I was able to get another 2.1 and made the A at the Nats with it, but would love to run my 3.1.

Let us know when it makes the list!

Thanks!
