Ok, I have searched this entire site trying to figure out what wheels and tires go together. Grrrrrrrrrrr. 2.2, 2.4 60mm, 61mm. I like DE Racing, AKA, and Pro-Line wheels. Do they make wheels for the 3.0. I know they made them for the 2.0, but I'm having trouble finding them for the 3.0. Anyone know the part numbers for any of these? Last, what tires go with this wheels? I feel like such an idiot.
2.4, 60mm, 61mm, and VTR are all the same thing and will all work with each other.
Losi makes wheels with the correct offsets for the 3.0, so I would just stick with losi wheels.

I'm know it's been stated 100 times on this thread, but just for further clarification; NO other 12mm hex front wheels(AE/KYO) will fit the 3.0.
I'm sure that in the near future Proline, AKA, & JConcepts will make a new front wheel to fit the 3.0 12mm front hex.
2.2" tires go on 2.2" wheels & 2.4"/60mm/61mm/VTR/EVO wheels go with 2.4"/60mm/61mm/VTR/EVO tires
The TLR part #'s for the wheels are:
2.2":
Front White: TLR43009
Front Yellow: TLR43010
Rear White: TLR7100
Rear Yellow: TLR7101
2.4"/60mm/61mm/VTR/EVO

Front Yellow: TLR43012
Rear White: TLR43015
Rear Yellow: TLR43016

Has anyone run the 2.4 wheels all around and what was your opinion on them?? Would the 2.4 be a better bet on indoor high bite clay?? Lower profile tire=less side wall roll and less grip?? Im finding the car to bicycle on high speed sweeping corners.

Is this the gear diff kit I need for the 22 3.0?

I've been having better luck with the 61mm wheels from TLR and ProLine Electrons MC for high traction indoor clay. I've experimented with the 2.2" wheels and same Electron MC tire, but my lap times were a little better with the 61mm TLR wheels all around.
I've also tried some rear DE Racing wheels for the RB6 which supposedly have the same offset on the rear, but it was necessary to install a spacer on the wheel to properly secure the lock nut. Those wheels perform a little worse (for me) than the 2.2" stock wheels that came with the kit.
I've heard that ProLine has discontinued making 2.4" tires... speculation has it that the tires are peeling off the wheels too easily in the mod classes. I'm running stock and haven't had any tires peel off my 61mm wheels yet. I've been stock piling on as many 2.4" Electron (MC) tires I can get my hands on... It's gonna suck when I have to switch back to 2.2" unless ProLine reconsiders making another batch of 2.4" tires later.
I plan to experiment with some 2.4" tires from JConcepts and AKA tires soon as I hunt for a suitable replacement for the 2.4" Electron (MC).

Not sure why they would be peeling off. 1/8 buggy uses the same style wheel, and I never had a problem with those.
I do see the VTR Electrons MC have been discontinued on proline's site. amain still has them in stock...

Ok, for the time being only TLR makes front wheels that will fit the new 3.0 12mm front hex. The rear wheels are for the 3.0 are unchanged/same as the 1.0/2.0 buggy.

I find it's dependent on how fresh the glue used to attach the tires was. I used to see 1/8 tires come un-glued all the time, including my own if I didn't use fresh glue to attach them.

I've had the peeling off on Proline, and AKA tires. Can't be prep or glue as non of my 2.2 tires experienced this. Maybe its the rims. My 2.2 were all AE rims and 2.4 was AKA and Proline. I have Losi rims in both sizes now so we'll see if I can keep the tire's on the rim

Apparently Maifield thinks the chassis flexes too much.

Image is broken, probably direct link protection by the web server; I think the article you got it from is this?

I remove the foam inserts then turn the tires inside out and spray enough Simple Green to completely degrease the mold release agent from the tires and spend extra attention on the bead area pinching the bead with my fingers as I rotate the full circumference of the bead. Then I rinse with water and lightly dab the foam insert (to remove the chalky residue) with the paper towel that I used to dry my hands after rinsing the tires.
To prep the wheels, I'll use a rubbing alcohol swab to degrease the bead of each wheel, usually 1 swab will cover all 4 wheels.
I use AKA glue and carefully lift the bead up so enough glue completely seats to the inner lip of the wheel as I apply the glue to the wheel and then let the rubber press onto the bead of the wheel.
After setting all 4 tires with CA, I'll go back and spot check for any holes by slightly pulling back the rubber to expose any weak areas and fill the voids with a drop or two where necessary.
I've mounted the tires within 2 hours of racing on a cool day with ambient temps around 66° and running a 17.5T motor. The traction is very high at Thornhill Jr, so the tires usually go bald after 4-5 heats of racing. It's possible that I don't get enough runs to see the beads peeling off because I go through tires so quickly?
I raced at OCRC a few weeks back and couldn't help but to notice how little tire wear they've got going with their mister system. I'd be curious to learn about how many heats of racing before the peeling starts to occur for you as well?
