CobraRacing - The message says it is a database update (1.79) rather than a new version of the software. The start of the message is attached below.

Foodie - I just tried it your way and it worked. Thanks very much for the help.

my speedo as also a updated to 1.79,
also if i click on the device and then the brushless system analyzer it briefly shows a data recorder graph, this then disappears if the program box is connected
if the program box is not connected you can see the data recorder is this a on going up date ?

The new Hw motors the light blue and silver can have no mechanical end bell timing adjustment .Mechanical timing causes to much heat build up and pinging.HW use internal electronic digital timing which is 100% acurate compared to the old mechanical timing

Just wanted to say a quick hello from the off road world.

I Attended the J Concepts NE Championship race last weekend. Ran my HW 120 in 13.5 and open modified. Never changed motors. Used the same HW 13.5 motor in both class - more than fast enough- too fast actually. In 13.5 class I could easily pull anyone on the straights and over the triple jump. Even against the mod guys running 8.5 or whatever. Motor and speedo never got hot. Should have cranked it up some more!!!

This new motor design 10.5T I've already tried. Its runs cooler by minus 20F compare to Orca motor that I'm using now with the same setup.

Good : Nice design, colour and run cooler
Bad : Less torque but mid and top is acceptable. Holes on the can is too big and myself experiencing motor jam once due to sand going inside through the holes and need to cover some holes.

Overall performance thumb up!!

Is the Xtreme Stock the latest? I don't see anything listed on the HW website that talks about a V2.1? Very interested in trying the 60A Xtreme for 17.5T off road but getting a bit confused over the versions..

So what are people finding wrt adjusting timing on the motor. is it OK to just use timing in esc? or combo with endbell timing? Seems like did motors with different default timing can throw you off on setting the esc.

I think in theory you can get the most from motors using no endbell timing, or generally with low to no natural timing, I think timing on the motor can work against the best setup of esc turbo type timing.

The more timing a motor may have in another way, will create heat and stop you adding timing via the esc, and really I suspect your best map or timing profile for power 'and' speed will come using esc timing alone.

Of course I have read in a couple of posts where some have said that felt they got a better setup using some endbell timing, but I think it's a nice way to make the setup more complex.

I'd rather let the esc do 'all' the work, then I can also just plug in the box and tweak settings the easy way, when I started using mine I set the timing on my SP10.5 to 0, so far have not felt the need to change it.
