I am actually running an X12 (Nosram Pure Evo) on my bike (yep, we 're friends with Simon!), and we're both going to the RC Bike Worlds next week!
He is a Superbike Champ and top-10 finisher at previous Worlds', and he is also trying his hand at stock bikes.
I am currently running 211 on Xerun 60A, X12 17.5T, track with huge straight (may be 70m, and two more 35-40m straights, flowing track, just one slow chicane) with following settings:
FW 211
FDR 7.2
DDRS 5
boost 20
start 5000
acc 350
slope 18
turbo 15
start 0.3
4-dots on motor.
It's plenty fast and has a kick out of slow corners. Using slipper to tame it down a bit (TT SB-5)
However, I am currently running at very high temps, around 29-35C at the track, and motor gets 65-80C.
So far so good, I keep practising whenever I can!

The X12 has loads of torque especially if you do like everyone else and run the 4 dot timing. As others have already stated I found the X12 to work much better with the 2 dot timing and only running around 30 boost and 10 turbo at max then gear the crap out of it.

You will find most motors do not need any timing before 4 or 5000 rpm in any application. You are actually creating less acceleration as the motor is struggling to add timing when it is under so much load at low rpm. The motors much prefer boost timing being added when there is less load and turbo when there is no load.

As a bike would be quite sensitive to throttle input i would be tempted to add a bigger turbo delay as well so you are not getting unwanted kick too early on.

I would try these settings with your X12

2 dot timing, FDR as is although you will probably end up adding more pinion.
Drrs 5
Start 5000
Boost 30
Boost timing acc 250
Turbo 10
Delay 0.3
Turbo slope 12
just try my setup then we talk again

In the last 14 months i have tested more set ups with the HW than you could imagine. For curiosity's sake i will try your settings and get back to you.

DO NOT expect any glowing reviews...

What big events where the traction was "high" have you raced at? Some of the gun setups from TITC 11.5 class this year used a super low start rpm

Default new esc foot print

I have 2 HW and 2 SP esc's and like them a lot. I have had no issues with either; I am just a club level racer both on and off road. My only beef is the foot print. I heard the newer esc will have a smaller foot print.
Can Cobra confrim this? and its size. I recently sold my Cougar sv and got a TLR 22 runing it mid I had to shoe horn that esc in there with body stress every where. I got it in but is not pretty. Works well though.. Does HW currently sell the smaller foot print esc under a different suppliers name? I want to stay with HW brand. I have not tried installing my esc in my Durango dex410r.. I am sure its going to be as fun as the TLR 22

On a positive note I have two installed in my Photons 17.5 and 21.5 and they work flawless. got the chassis balanced and running narrow chassis on both.. I am glad |I did not jump to the tekin band wagon.

Hi..

A question...

Any opinion/advice on hobbywing sensored 10.5 and 17.5? how is the performance? i saw a lot of discussion on other brand, but not this one.

Currently im using the 10.5. so far so good, but thinking to buy a new one as the current motor i already have a pretty dent casing hehe...

Thanks

The motors are quoted as having a little lower KV rating than some others but they are good motors. I havent used any higher than 13.5 but the 10.5 and especially the 13.5 are screamers
