I knew that was your intention, just wanted to stir the pot!
I really hope I can make it to some of the Series, I think it will be a blast! I'm very slow, but I love driving the F1 car! Can't wait to try the FGX (heard it's supposed to be easier to drive. lol
I need there to be lots of racers so I can find a few that I can kinda compete with in the F1 car. I had a great time when I finally got into the "B" Main in VTA, great racing!
Maybe in the future we can have "F2" with 25.5's for those who are not "set on Kill"!

I found the "instructions" for making the timer and have a plan to get going on it. I think I should be able to come up with something to try in time for the first race, I'll keep you posted.

Glad to see you can be flexible in a effort to make the racing more enjoyable for everyone.

I have some parts on order from the lab. My battery is on its way. I hope to get some testing in this weekend on the new uf1 set up.

Keep in mind that what I was talking about was never actually a rule, just something I was considering. Not sure when the parts are arriving, but I will ship them out as soon as they get here.

Too bad you can't try it out in Toledo! The F1 cops would confiscate it!

Email me about next weekend...

A couple of us are coming up from the cbus area to run this UF1 series. I got a few questions that I'm not sure has been brought up. If so, I missed it. Will the spec tires be available to purchase at the track? Are they premounted? Also do you allow tire warmers?

Thanks

Good call Lon, I have a spread sheet built up with a bunch of equations and filters to make my life easier; looks like I left a filter on the results. I’ll update it when I get home for lunch.

Tires come in a package with foams and rims but nothing glued up; you will have to do that yourself. Tires should be available at the track; send a PM to BP Shadow to confirm. I don’t think any local guys have been running tire warmers; don’t seem to need it by the time you hit the track and finally get the ‘go’ I don’t think the warmer would do much? Most of us run a few hot laps at the beginning to get the feel of the tires. But again, ask Brad if he is outlawing them for the race but I don’t think you need it.

Bring out some guys on Sunday to come up of you can; we should have around 18 local cars at the track. We posted a schedule earlier; more cars = more fun IMHO

Are you guys not going to rd1 this weekend?

Also, I did a 15min test run on a Reedy 4000 shorty yesterday. The pack handled a full 15min run non-stop running with a couple USVTA cars. Voltage was down to 7.8 afterwards. How long are the pit stops?

Oops your right, some people are going to the UF1 event; I didn't think about that because I won’t be able to make it there for round 1. Like you tested; a 4000 pack will be fine for 15 minutes. Pit stops are adjusted to be just shorter than 1 full lap; reason being is if a car is holding you up you should be able to pit to get away from it.

How many local guys do you get down in Columbus? What facility do you race at?

There are two others that I know of. Two more guys are in the process of getting one together. We haven't run together yet, but I have been putting some laps down at Access in Springfield. I'm planning on running it at the ROAR Region 5 race ( at RMR in Batavia, OH) if enough show up.
