Hello racers, i read Josh comment on the new V1RRR shimo chasis ( the one without battery cover). And he said that improved his lap time but doesn't the chasis heavier than the original one? Is anybody here has experience using it? Thanks for the input..

Amigo, I have one of the chassis on order and hoping to findout in a couple weeks. With the HIGH traction that the track I run on can have, I would think that the chassis has a little less flex so it would help. Plus I figure since I never remove the battery, what the heck.

The team I drive for have produced a steel battery plate to add more weight as low down as possible. The plate is about 35g heavier than the standard item. I've not tested it yet, but as it is adding weight low down and central, it can only make things better.

Mark: Ah, why would you want to add more weight? Everyone else in here seems to want to lose weight. Doesn't the added weight offset the gain in CG?
Perhaps it's the type of track you are running on - i.e. sweeping turns versus tight.
BTW - Would you buy a titanium chassis (VZ228)? A friend of mine said that if he gets his venture capital money to buy a titanium "printing" machine, he would make me one to try out. It is very awesome technlogy Mark. You can take any 3D Model and using titanium power and an electron beam, turn it into a titanium part. You should check it out: http://www.arcam.com/applications/index.asp
