Banzai had two runs and sold out in hours on both.

Your best bet now is Tower.

Do you remember what price they were at Banzai?
Once everywhere is sold out, is that it or Tamiya just weren't expecting them to be this popular and sell out straight away?
With the coupon code I got I can get it for $499.97 from Tower but even at price was a lot cheaper at other places. The 418 is $470 at Banzai.

Banzai had them for like $380, if I remember when I looked, but then you have to tack on $40 or so of EMS shipping.

HI guys

yesterday I was driving and had problems with a lot of play on the spur gear. I tried to shim but it has not helped.
I think it is on the main shaft. Has anyone solved this problem?

I added shims on the main shaft to get the lash out of the miter gears. I think it was 0.3mm worth behind the gear and in front of the bearing, yours might be more or less. I also added a black o ring to the driveshaft cup and put the whole foam in the front transmission joint to hold the drive gear in preload so the main shaft doesn't walk around.

IMO, you want to shim all the lash out of all of the shafts, right up to the point you bind something up. I think this is why my shaft stuff is quiet and failure free.

I have the same problem ..
I think the main reason is the main shaft bearing.
But unable to remove and replace the main shaft bearing.....

Why can't you remove the bearing?

It seems there are some reliability issues being reported here lately, is there an inherent problem with this kit? Or Are most of you running trouble free?

If it all comes down to using carbon enforced plastics and properly shimming, I don't consider that a problem.

Besides the drivetrain, are the arms/c-hubs/knuckles holding up well?

I think it comes down to shimming and that's it. I ran four days at the reedy race and probably four days practice with my TB04 without issue. The drive train is very similar between both.

I have one of my Evos built, but it has to be shelved till after TCS Finals. Which is a bummer, but just a little bit of one.

Are there suitable tool which can be removed bearing it?

Because the bearing and spur gear holder installation is very tight

How does this chassis do in 17.5 against others like the 418, Xray and other chassis?
