Anyone know if there is a new version coming out?
I had an R1 in my shopping cart on RCMart on Sunday night and the R1 was sold out when i went to pay for it the next morning. Checked their eBay store and they've taken them off there too. Both had stock the night before...

Glad my experience was of use to someone. I didn't bother trying the pistons they give you because the black material wasn't giving me a good impression (compared to the super slippery feeling you get when handling Tamiya pistons) and I just could not bear the hassle of checking if they were round, etc. Tamiyas are my standard and the TOPs were the next best thing in my pitbox, so in they went.

Carbon battery strap made by spec-R. I have one on one of my S1s. Looks good and works great.

S2 "updates". Don't know if I'm sold yet...

1. The new HD gear diff. Doesn't have that paper gasket anymore. Also there are metal washers that take up all the slop. Went together nice. Feels nice. But I'm flinging 1000 wt oil all over the place. Yes, I lightly sanded the halves of the diff case.

BTW, the one that comes stock with the S2 is the same as the HD one that you can buy as an add-on part. Except the kit one comes with philips head screws and the add-on part comes with 1.5mm hex screws?

2. I'm confused why they included the servo mount they did? Why three parts, one of which is aluminum, instead of just including the aluminum servo mount from the R1?

3. Also, don't know if I like the new motor mount or not? Really hard to get to the motor mount screws with a bigger pinion on. Almost impossible to get to the pinion set screw now.

I like the prospec servo mount but I could see it bending pretty easily. The r2 will prob use the three peice moubt with cf as other cars have. Will limit it bending and make it lighter still.

The motor mount does look dumb. My brief experience with a t4 really made me hate that style for 17.5. I imagine its better for mod when you have enormouse spurs but meh. There was nothing really wrong with the old motor moubt imo.

Good.to know about the dif. People should definitely pay attebtion when buying dif parts though as hd parts will not be interchangable with the old style dif. Maybe the outdrives?

I kinda wish the servo was a little more forward. Its a tight fit getting electrics in there with the low profile. Couldn't imagine trying to use a full size.
Atm I don't even have room for a transponder on the deck lol.

started the build the r1 pro spec is just as impressive as my other cars, I sanded the servo nub off for a cleaner look, installed smokem racing front spool outdrives for tamiya dcj as I had a set, the front is super smooth now, just waiting for electronics, this car is going to be a blast to drive and at 229 I will not care if it gets scratched up

zaraz, took me a minute to realize what you meant by servo nub. Good thought behind that one though, should make for a cleaner look. The Spec-R R1 Pro is a great car. What surface are you going to run on?

Be sure to post pictures of your car with all of the red electronics. Where did you get the red screws from?

SpecR makes a carbon battery holder, but it's out of stock.
