Just another question for anyone.

How important is Sway Bars. Mine came with the bars but none of the other components needed to fit them and i cant work out where to get them from in Australia. So I will have to either run without them or wait until i can get an order from TQ.

I run on a fairly bumpy tight/open flowing outdoor track in 13.5t on rubber tyres.

I ran an S1 in 17.5 blinky and later my R1, but the Schumacher Mi5 is a step above anything I have ever raced. The diffs are so easy to remove and the upper deck never has to be touched. Pinion and spur gear changes are also easier, but you must use Schumacher spur gears. Not a problem and prices are in line with the rest.

The car is very modular in that I can remove the complete steering servo with two bolts and the complete steering assembly with two more bolts. There is some slop that I didn't like in front, but there is an easy fix to add a few set screws to tighten things that is easy to do and costs nothing as long as you have a few set screws.

I did find that the yellow seal bearings in the kit are very free right out of the box, but the box but they don't last long and need to be replaced.

No one really talks about using them so dunno. Neither of my r1's have given me need to use anything other than oem.

Check the slot in the out drive. I had a Spec-R R1 diff that had a tight spot in the slotted portion of the outdrive, a little file work and its good.

I have the t4 14 and the r1 pro spec, all the drive train parts are the same as the t4, suspension components are all different, cannot shim to fit either

I had read in a couple of places that the R1 uses Tamiya 417 suspension. I cannot confirm it aside from the aluminum 417 steering blocks that I bought fit, with the exception of the rear outer pin being a different diameter.

it also looks like the suspension bits from the HB TCX/TCXX will work as well. all the pins (inner & outer hinge) are exactly the same length - if the pins are the same diameter, then the c-hubs and rear hubs should work. not sure how much of the geometry would change

Don't read too much into it, lol. Spec-R R1 diff just so happens to be 38t and uses bearing supported outdrives, I saw the breakdown of the diff and it requires nothing to bolt into my car, so I had to try one. Dennis (DBM) has really worked on getting his car and driving better all the time, good job on him.
