Why not running a smaller spur gear instead of a bigger pinion?
Also what you could do is raise the upper deck by inserting 1 to 2mm shims under upper deck, but always make sure there is enough clearance of the front belt

It is not advisable to completely remove upper deck. You would have problems with tweak and slippage of front belt. Car would be a handful to drive too.

Do you know:
The smaller spur can use is 82t, due the biggest can use is 58t, you cannot reach closer than this condition.
If until 1 month from the event i would go still cannot put the car run less than 2.8 fdr, the only way is swap into 2014 lower deck.

just get the correct size spur,i use a 68 spur and a 37 pinion which is 3.6fdr using 48dp it also helps the balance of the car as the motor sits further back

I need a car run 2.4 to 2.6 fdr.
If still has no solution, i would put 2014 main parts into this chassis.
Btw, thanks?!

dont have that size pinion so cant check but im sure it would mesh,i have used 40/66 to get 3.30 and the motor still has plenty of travel left for a bigger pinion

Problem of 2013 car is the biggest pinion can afford is 58t, different than 2014, which i know can reach more than 60t.

for samix setup use xray setups from petitrc and add .5mm spacer under every block.

1mm lower is to be used for asphalt only for more grip. If that's the case use Hagberg's setup on asphalt for the blocks inserts only and Volker's euro championship setup for everything else.

I use 1mm lower mount is really for a asphalt low-medium traction fast track which i would run further race.

Hi all,
Did anyone test the Samix mounts? Are they top quality or just a nice try like many aftermarket option parts? If you guys have pictures of one mounted please post one.
Thx.

Could anybody tell me if 2016 upper deck fits 2015 car.
Even motor mount position is different could be acceptable.
I just want to know if can use on Spice FWD.
Thank you

Hi Porsche928gs, can you point me in the direction of that Hagberg set up (that uses the insert spacers) please, as I have the Samix blocks, but not had a chance to bolt them on and play with inserts / measure widths of pin etc.
Is a good place to start as per the xray T4 15 manual?
AL1983, the blocks are well made, Samix make some nice stuff. As above, I've not got them on the car yet, but they feel solid and nicely made in hand. HTH
