I'm looking to get back into RC, and in the past day or so I decided to give on-road a honest try (once I get a job and can reasonably afford everything to start out with). I do have some questions about the BD7 that I hope I can get answered from you guys.

1.) How does this model fair price and performance-wise against a XRay T4? That's the other car I'm currently considering right now, and I'm figuring they're both in the same price range.

2.) How is parts support stateside? I would be racing either at Mike's Hobby Shop in the Dallas area (once they get moved into their new location) or another indoor track in that same area. There's not very much out here where I live for indoor that's not either a hour or two in either direction, and I don't mind having spares on me, but I don't want to have something go out or break and not be able to replace it that day.

3.) What tools will I need to make adjustments/changes on the BD7? I know that on the old Associated offroad RTR I had, a nut driver set was most of what I needed to make changes.

The track is primarily for 1/12. It's hard to see, but the track had a dusting of both dirt and of foam. Also, the ambient temperature was 40 degrees Celsius, not to sure what the track temperature was. It was hot enough to make the surface a tad slick. Overall the car works wonderfully, I did stray away from the box setup a little.

Raised the roll centers front and rear by 1 mm on the hubs.

Yeah, I'm located in Izumi City, Kagoshima Prefecture. The video was taken in Matsubase City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

I'm pretty impressed with the BD7 performance so far. That was my first time in 3 years I've driven a sedan. I've only been racing 1/12 for about 5-6 months. I thin I need to make a few adjustments i.e ackermann and it should work well.

Hey guys, looking for some tips.

I was re-building my car for my upcoming race, and i noticed my suspension arms didn't move as freely as i liked. I took everything appart and i noticed the pin ball mounts were tight on the metal shaft. I cleaned everything, greased it with tamiya AW grease and re-built the car, but some were hard to slip onto the shaft. The suspension mounts them selves looked mint, no paint was removed, just on the balls themselves.

Anyone else notice this? I'm going to order some yokomo bd-301b, what grease do you guys usually put? im considering some ball diff grease, or Black Stealth grease instead of the tamiya AW stuff

AW on pinballs/mounts

Ream arms if necessary to float free on pins
With the plastic arms I did not find this to be necessary, after a few break-in runs they are nice and free

For the Carbon arms, I did run a ream thru for a perfect fit

imo...
In this way there is no wear and tear on any moving parts
And everything fits and works as it should

A lot of racers feel that the pivot point should be on the pinball/mount
to each his own

Isn't the design of the pinball/mount kinda the point, to pivot on the ball? I know the TC6.1 and Xray it's on the arms themselves, i thought the yokomo was on the balls... but like you said...to each their own

Or perhaps they are merely a simple way to allow unlimited free angles for suspension pin adjustment, with all arms pivoting around the pins ?
