Keep in mind that closing one hole with Xray oil is like closing 1 1/2 holes with AE oil. In other words, if two holes are closed on a shock with 30wt xray oil, and you want to build a shock with the same dampening but with 50wt AE oil, you would close three holes.

No.... with 2 hole open in both shocks 30wt xray is equal to 50wt ae oil and both would be the same. If you used 30wt xray and 30 wt ae then you would use 3 hole pistons in the xray shock and 2 hole pistons in the ae shock to be the same. All that being said they would feel somewhat the same but the pack would be different. Changing oil or pistons you can get the same dampening but the pack is different if you use thin oil with less hole than if you used thick oil with more holes the dampening is around the same but pack does change. Hope that was explained so all could understand.

Well im going to try another ESC as the one thats on my car smelt quite bad. It has that burnt smell of when you have blown it up. Yet it still runs fine. Perhaps i have blown some resistors or something and now the motors are getting too much current? Is this possible?

I was running two holes all the way around, with 50 losi oil. I finally got my new tamiya shocks, could anyone tell me what would be compariable to my old xray shocks.

By the way, I didnt need any extra stuff to mount the shocks, I had to use some spare nuts to mount the ball studs on the shock tower, but everything else mounted right up, I also had to use the short lower shock mount instead of the long.

You installed the new ones they sent?? ...those should be fine, I ran those for a while no problem, although I have since upgraded all my thurst bearings to the Axiom ones.

Thought about that configuration, but I don't like the an working against the natural air flow with it pointing backwards.

Xrays are super good and I love mine, but Jason won Expert stock with his Corally RDX.

Default xray

Bon Nilsen- Hey man this is Steven Alexander(erkel), i raced with you in stock sedan Sunday. Is the set-up really different from a 04 to 05t1fk? Because Sunday was my first day running my Xray04 t1fk, and i think that was my worst race day ever as you can see i only completed one race because i didnt like how the car was handling. Im going to reset it up an try an work from there. Also did you hook your fan into your battery slot on your receiver?

Steven

Setup is different between the two cars...

Setup is all about controling weight transfer and the weight distribution of the FK05 is quite a bit different than the FK04....as such it requires a different setup...

check out the setups section on the teamxray.com forum for help with FK04 setups
