RCERIC...
Oops my bad, no one from XRay has stated they are stainless, though others posted that the screws are aluminum on the xray forums, while others suggested replacing the screws with stainless. The kit screws certainly don't weigh as much, nor have the same finish as the stainless replacements I bought.

Some of our local racers are now using associated springs with their fk05 and I've tried them with my fk04. The reasoning is the shorter length and more progressive rate. Anyone's thoughts on this???
Has anyone used HPI's progressive rate springs or any other brand spring with their xray's?

When I built my '05, I tightened all of the screws too tight, apparently. I had to dremel a slot in 3 of them to get them out, which mean that I have dremel marks on the bottom of that pretty new chassis after the first race day. Now, I only barely tighten them, and check them before each race - don't take that long to just hit all of them with the Hudy driver to be sure they aren't loose - no more problem with them being overtight, and this also makes me go over the entire car before each heat/main.

i have used congo springs in my 05 and the car was pretty good until there were a lot of 180s and chicanes. went to the xray springs and the car was even better.

Is anybody having glitching problems with the fk05? Mine is horrible, I've tried different receivers/positions etc etc. I have no problems with any of my other cars. It's driving me nuts...
