19mm... We went to a centered mounting face to ensure the tires run as true as possible. It also allows us to have a really stiff front face for corner speed and a soft inner for traction and drivability.

Nice looking rim and glad to hear we can expect a true quality rim. Will u offer pre mounted? Will you offer the rim in a other color. Black is so hard for us old guys to pick up against ozite. Bright green comes to mind. Also, did you have a chance to look for any Phoenix WGT's?

Thanks, Carl

Carl - Shoot... I'll look at that WGT stuff in the AM. Sorry... Yes, we will have mounted tires - Looking at about 6 compounds for fronts and 6 for rears to start. Sorting out all that right now. Black is an easy color that matches cars/schemes - I really don't like white 1/12 rims and if we went with yellow, green or another color someone will always compain..lol... Black was a safe/easy one and honestly, my fav for 1/12 rims.

29TC - Yes, I was unhappy with the samples that arrived so I passed on that supplier. The one that I like has done up some samples and they look great! I gave them the go ahead for production so they may be in stock before the IIC. From there, we have graphite on order so when it arrives we will be able to start cutting graphite for them. May just have a limited # available before IIC due to time constraints but after the race they will be in full swing.

Here's a pic of the samples - They are not anodized but will be black anodized in production.

Will you have tire and hubs at the IIC and how many? I'm coming in early to mid day on tuesday.
Thanks,
E

Josh - The only thing I need to update my original Griffin to the 2011 spec is the upgrade chassis? Any other parts I should order?

Also, could you post or send me a starting 1/12th modified setup. Thanks.

EricF - We will have very limited #'s. Honestly, I may be bringing donuts and stripping rims and re-mounting at the race if we need too..lol... I should have at least 50 sets of rims but if the few of us who will run them decide to sway off the usual compounds then we may have to do a little extra work. Also, I only have 3 sets of sample hubs right now and those are already reserved for myself and 2 other CEFX drivers. The production ones may arrive right before the race and if they do then we could possibly supply a few more racers with tires at the event.

Lizard - IIC is October 3rd-8th. If you are coming in on the 27th you will be a bit early (or really late if October). If you will be there, I can make sure to bring one for you.

jkirkwood - You would need the update kit - Includes the chassis, center shock mount, standoffs and hardware. We also have all the new aluminum front end parts. Those will be going up on the site here shortly.

I will get some set-ups posted here soon. We were able to test the inline version with Pete at the IIC Warm-Up and it definatly needs a little different center shock set-up.

Put the upgrade kit on my Griffin12 last night and I have one question. I am using the Thunder power 65c 5400 mah battery and it fits really snug under the shock mount and rear brace, is this normal? If not should I shim them up?

Ian - Thanks!!

Khador12 - Yes, depending on the battery pack you are using you will need no shims or as much as .75mm to clear the pack.

1/12 tire compounds are decided on as well as prices and part #'s. Those will be posted here soon. The 1/12 hubs are in production now and should be in stock as early as late next week along with the new WGT right hub and Evo motor/mount plates. The tire truing arbor will be coming the following week while we are at the IIC. 2nd test shot of the rims is done and shipping so the final wheels will be in production next week once we recieve this 2nd test shot and approve. We expect to be able to ship 1/12 tires around October 14th-21st range.

Progress continues here as quickly as possible!
