Charles,
If you get the combo pack you will have everything you need to set-up and run the VFS-1. And yes the speedo lead connects directly to the setting adapter, if you need a longer lead the combo pack includes an extension.

Contrary to popular belief. Its not just a serial connector. Just popping the serial connector casing reveals a board on the inside. So there is some tech involved.

Though $75 does seem a little painful on the wallet

The default neutral brake setting is 0.

Try Hara's or Masami's setting on the website for 1/12. This was used for them at last year's Japan nationals.

When using a receiver pack, the red pin on the lead must be disconnected going from the esc to the receiver. DO NOT CUT the wire. You will need to re-connect it when programming.

I know I was reading this before but canīt find the information again. What is the drive frequency with the factory setting?
Regarding programming, is it possible doing all the settings with the handheld adapter or do you need the PC adapter for this?

stage 36 across the entire profile is the factory setting.

yes. you can do everything with the handheld programmer. PC adapter will allow you to see the throttle profile visually.

Thanks. Superfast answer.
stage 36 means 3.98 kHz right?

Are there any more new informations on the new KO ESC? I was reading something of a higher spec version than the current VFS-1. I thought this is the VFS-2 but now I found on the KO site this is a budget version.

Default BEC

Is the BEC on this speedo adjustable? If not, does anyone know if its adequate for a Sanwa ERG-VRX servo?

thanks!

I run a ERG-VRX with my VFS-1 and it works fine, have done for about 6 months and have never had a problem.
