Jones, Sorry I couldn't talk last night. Things here at work were a little crazy.

Power save is factory set at 3.0v. You will want to leave this setting as is unless you are running a receiver pack. It is the BEC.
Heibiki or KO Staff can explain in more detail.

no problem Rob. ...I understand. Cant wait to try it out with more punch.....the stock setting was super soft....but the laptimes were the best i have run there....first time out with the car. hopefully I can get a little quicker by changing these settings.

Ray told me you were rolling quite well with the new car. Glad you like it. Junior likes his too. I guess Chicky and I just need to kick some butt and get you guys converted to Losi's............ LOL

well, you and Chicky are in another class all together.....but I think the car shows serious potential. my batteries were less then steller too so between that and changing the speedo, I think I can cut more time. my 3rd run with the car was around 4 seconds off the best runs that Jimmy or Goetz have had. Hopefully the change in freq will not only feel different but equate to some time.

That's awesome you ran so close to Jimmy and Goetz. You will only get better with the car and the speedo changes will help some too.........

also... do NOT.. i repeat DO NOT use this profile in MOD. i will guarantee you will dump at about 2:30 into your race!

this profile will work really good in 19T too.
dont be shy if you have any more questions.

(i know because ive done it on accident the one time i ran mod.

Wheel spin. What is that? Carpet, foam tires, and Paragon = no wheel spin

id say a cut every 2-3 runs with the settings i posted. brushes can be replaced depending on how long you run your brushes. i replace my brushes every 12-14 runs or so.

Just got my first vfs pro with a handheld and would be using this for mod on a Tamiya 415 with 8-9 turn V2 touring. Problem is I'll be using this set up in a big national race next week and I don't have a damn clue how to set up the esc. I've read the instructions but its kinda complicated. Can you please refer to me a page in this thread where I can find a very well explained basic instruction. I could always mess around with the handheld and get it to work but Im a bit pressured here cuz I'll be running mod, stock and GP all with different cars and given the time table. Thanks a bunch.

Ok.. the stock settings for the VFS-1 is 36 across the board. search back about 7-8 pages. i posted an excel file that tells you the frequency for each stage number. 36 across is WAY TOO SOFT for stock.
i never go above 22 for stock. in fact. i stay in the teens and single digits.
below are instructions on how to program your esc with the handheld adapter. step by step
1. unsolder the motor & unplug the esc from the receiver
2. plug into the hand held adapter.
3. turn on the handheld adapter.
4. hold down the small button the esc switch. then slide the white switch to the on position. the RED LED light will turn on, then off, when it turns on again, you are ready to program.
5. on your HHA (handheld adapter), use the up and down buttons and go to the screen that says RX TX (RX = receive, TX = Transmit)
6. the left button corresponds to RX, and right button on TX.
7. HOLD DOWN the left button until it says "OK" on the HHA.
8. you have received the profile thats on your adapter.
9. program the profile as you wish.
10. scroll back to the RX TX screen. hold down the button for TX (right button)
11. the red led light will flash rapidly. CONGRATS. you just programmed your ESC.
12. turn off the esc. turn off the HHA. replug everything in.
Current Limit of 12 means its 120V. the zero got dropped.
to save your settings that you just programmed:
1. scroll to a memory slot (1-3)
2. program the throttle profile.
3. scroll to the screen that says LD SV
4. hold down the SV button. when it says ok. it has been saved.
5. later, to retrieve the profile. scroll to the slot you saved it in, go to the LD SV screen. hold down the LD button and it'll say "OK"
6. scroll and you will your profile.
hope that helps.

Hi, Im interested in buying one of these speed controls, Ive always used LRP Quantum 2s. The LRP is easy to set-up, and program. Can someone tell me about the Ko-Propo? Are they just as easy to program. I just bought a EX-10 Helios, and a KO 2363 digital servo and want to keep all my electronics KO.

I only JUST got my VFS-1 on Thursday and first impressions make you think that it is a very complex little unit and hard to use. But when you actually try to do something with it...... its really very easy. Quite simple to understand and if you just read the sheet of paper (commonly known as instructions
) then you should find it a breeze. I've been playing around with the ICS and you really can feel it on the track, its amazing. I think that KO really are the GURUs of speed controllers and without a doubt, I'll be buying KO from now on if they keep this up!!!
PS - VERY happy customer if you can't tell!!

Do you know if the new Yokomo based Ko-Propo speed controls are programable?
