Minor correction.. In 17.5 Kyle was also running an Awesomatix.

Perfect, thanks for the answer. Is there any performance advantages of the light weight?

I find a lightweight body makes my car more agile, the standard weight can be a bit easier to drive, but that's on my Xray.

Friends with Tamiya's mainly run standard weight, but I'm not sure why.

The only real way to test is to get one of each and try them.

For $399 you can get a complete 417 kit with gear diff.

You'll have to get the V5 servo mount. I have a new Smokem (sorta, it's been sealed but never used) with the floating servo mount I can sell you if you are interested.

I will tell you that you will not be disappointed with this kit. Especially for $399.
