SpeedWorld NEW SJ'R Sorex pre-mounted Racing tires
#181
Hey YLLIB,
I used to run Jaco greens and I LOVED the look, but didnt really like having to adjust my camber to compensate for the low sidewall... This was partly the reason why I switched to running the Sorex 28's .
I'm wondering if I would have this same sidewall issue with the new SJ-R line?
Thanks in advance.

I just measured 2 sets, and none of them measure different from the outer to inner diameter. And even if they were made that way mounting a rubber tire in them wouldn't fit to well on the inside bead then would it.
Maybe your thinking of the Jaco prisim 1.5 Nitro shoes!!!

Sorry BOR but my other post didn't answer his question.
You should't have to run alot of camber with the SJR's as the sidewall on the Sorex's tires is taller then the Jaco green's/blue's. At the Reedy we were running 2.5d to 3d of camber with the Jaco Blues and with Sorex we normaly run 1.5d to 2. You can run less on the Sorex but thats what I have found to work for me.

For the record Scotty, thats a high speed take out! LOL, even if it means I have to run mod
Anyhow. I want some black SJR's. I might have to paint them like Chris D did. Looked pretty sick!

you can not go wrong with the new SJR premonts this is a high grip good wearing tire. The best thing is that you can contact SJR and they will go out of the way to help with any issue.

Last time I raced at NorCal, the one set of SJR 36's I have been using were on their 13-14 run (5-6 min each). After my last practice day, they are up to 17-18 runs. I finally bought a second set; but, may well get through my next practice before changing them...
Kudos to Billy B for making this tire/wheel/insert combo happen. A big boost to on-road.

Ok good...after reading the post, I was like man...am I that slow, I didnt see where my question was answered .
Scott B, This answers my questions and it looks like I have a new tire !! I have always loved the look/performance of the Jacos......but I could get the same performance without having to change my entire setup by running the Sorex. Looks like I can get the Best of both worlds.
Thanks Scott B.... and BlackedoutRevo
