Billy, After all the hand me downs from fellow racers has run out, I am finally in the market for some good tires. I have read the forum front to back. With so much info, I am now lost. Can you please give me a suggestion of tire, insert, and wheel for Low/ Med traction asphalt racing. Small track. Here in San Diego. Weathers usually 70 in winter.

Hello VINNY73, 28r will be the tire for use. Thanks guys for the help getting back to Vinny. You can call NEXUS RACING, they have tires in stock. Sorry we are waiting for shippment on tires. Hong Kong is even having troubles getting tires right now from Japan.

Hello everyone, I am truly sorry for the inconvenience on receiving product but it is out of my control and I am doing the best I can for you racers. All SJ-R Racing pre-mounts from 24-28-32 will be back in stock in the next 3 weeks or less. We will be receiving about 1600 this time around and have our order in already for the next shipment.
All back orders will be shipped asap and everyone has been notified by e-mail.
Thank you for your support and understanding.

Looking for an update!
Billy
It has been a while but I am finally going to race again starting this year
From my previous experience I remember how important tire selection is and it seems these SJR pre-mounts may be the way to go!
I would consider mounting my own (as much as I would rather not) because of the savings and I have some questions (Home track Ripon, Ca).
1. Are the SJR inserts good for all temps 24/28/32
2. Any chance of a good write up on prep and gluing these up (which is the best glue, do the rims need prep or sanding, rubber bands? etc..)
3. Are the tires, rims and inserts in stock now?
4. Are the premounts available yet?
Nice to see you are doing so well in these tough times!

1) yes
2) Losi thin or med glue works awesome, I like the thin because it gets down in all the areas.Take some asatone or brake cleaner and wipe the areas down that will be glued. a LIGHT TENSION RUBBER BAND CAN BE USED. Remember not to pull the tire from the rim to far, so slightly pull away then glue.
3)Tires and rims in stock now and I can find you a couple sets of inserts at home for you if you want them.
4) I have 36r pre mounts in stock now. I will have all others in stock around April 20. I would use 28r at Ripon since they race at night.
Thank you for your support.

+1 on #4!! I have been running them lately down here in the cool weather of San Diego. The track temp has averaged 78. Last weekend the track temp got up to 99F. I switched to the 36's cause I didn't have 32's and the 28'S still seemed a little better but after 12pm when cloud cover came back 28's really worked well. And these are 1yr old tires fresh out of the bag so I can only imagine how the new rubber and the well talked about new inserts will work. Please keep us posted Billy.
