Trying to look for some suggestions on how to place the speedo? Running a hobbywing 3.1. Anyone running the same that can put up pics? Do people generally run the speedos as close to the centre line as they can? Or offset them out a bit?
Also, with the power cap, can I put it right next to back of the motor? Will the heat effect it or is it bad for it?

I wouldn't recommend putting the capacitor near the motor. I'm not an electrical expert, but from what I've read heat can impact the capacitor, and they tend to generate their own heat by charging and dumping power over and over. I like to run an external set of capacitors (like this) so that I can mount it in a more convenient place, and possibly pick up a little performance.

I'm looking to replace the steel SS3X12 studs that hold the upper link balls. Has anyone found any companies that make suitable titanium studs? I've tried mcmaster.com and alliedtitanium.com, but they don't seem to have titanium threaded rod in metric sizes.
I'm considering just buying some titanium screws and cutting the heads off if I can't find any studs.

Now, I was using the P13s that came with my Evo 2 that I bought in Feb-March. I'm not sure if those were the latest P13-4 or not. I wouldn't mind giving the ST24/P13 combo another try, because the 5.4 mm balls and ends have a small amount of slop that I'm not super pleased with.

I recently switched to the 5.4 mm PA-HBS003 with the corresponding TC-PMHS01 ends, so I still use the studs. I have yet to have one of these pop off during impact, which is why I use them. I didn't have a massive problem with the ST24/P13 combo; I just had one pop off during a critical a-main and it ticked me off... making me switch to the 5.4 mm balls.

New parts
See some new parts on viljamin's car at the ETS final, first a new aluminum chassis from excelllab (hopefully a lot cheaper) and second a new gear diff being run up front.

Thanks Patrick, always exciting to see new stuff. That front diff looks like a beast.

I think Steen Graverson made or tested a belt prototype in 2011, perhaps someone here still has a photo of it.

Hanulec,
I wish I was back over there, but I am still here in Japan. Everything I have seen has just been on different sites. I have never regretted buying the first A700 kit and always look forward to future products. I only wish chassis and diff's could be cheaper like the Yokomo or X-ray kits.

Well hopefully over time certain items will get cheaper... But we all know its a volume play. If/when amtx is 60%+ of the cars things would for sure be cheaper.
My big surprise the platform is its generally easy wear/tear on parts. That, and that I've never been faster in TC

Hi guys
The blog is mine and I was there and posted the photos.
Oleg has a clear vision on what to do now with the car to improve and catch up with the competition who seem to have improved and opened the gap, at least in open mod class.
Not much else can be said now.
Expect some news in the future from Awesomatix.

The A700ex is already there in Mod racing. It's just that the pros need to stop using those powerless 4.5t motors and upgrade to a 2.5t boosted !!!!! The car can't reach its potential if you follow the belt cars... You need to recognize that the belt cars will never be able to handle a 2.5t boosted without overheating, but the shaft cars can handle it with ease...
DON'T HOLD THE A700 BACK !!!
