Tekin RS ESC sensored

Randy,
You mentioned that the 194 software is supposed to be more efficient, correct? I assume efficiency can be measured in what temps I see when I come off the track. I was at my track yesterday and with the same gearing and timing that I had with the 189 software I noticed much lower temps when running 194. In the past with the 189 I would reach 170 degrees after a 6 - 7 minute practice run. With the 194 I ran for 10 minutes plus and came off the track at 170-175. With that said the track layout changed since last week so I'm not sure how much that factors in. I guess a good test would be to run 189 for 6 minutes and then 194 for 6 minutes and check the temps. I was just curious if my temp change was due to the software change?
I am running an Xray 008/009 with a Speed Passion 17.5 in sensored mode and 18 boost.

The biggest difference I saw was the temperature differences...which makes me wonder does the ESC add less timing in sensored mode with 194?? We had a radically new track layout this week so I couldn't really get a good feel for anything else. I will do more testing this weekend and I will run a pack or two with 189 and then go back to 194 to see if I feel a difference.

thats what i'm going to do also.
as it gives less motor temp than you can gear it heavier a bit.

Hi all,
I've run 194 yesterday on a big track (Mach Heemstede with a back straight around 250ft) with 13.5 (Orion Race spec). Timing on the motor was 0, max on ESC with 5300 LiPo.
After a run of 14 minutes my motor was 47 deg celsius (116F) and my lipo was 24 (75F). Speed was not good (63-67 km/h), guys with LRP ESC (same FDR of 3.8) were 4-6 km/h faster.
I've tested FDR's of 3.6, 3.7, 3.8, 4.3.
Speed was best with 3.8 but still too slow.
Any suggestions?

rcpoint- with a back straight of 250ft, if you are looking for speed, I would be thinking of using some motor timing instead of boost on that track, or a combination of the two, maybe.

In 13.5 stock class here we are not allowed to use motor timing (it sucks but rules are rules).

witch motor are you using?
put it on the standart timing.
all other motors are at least 12 degrees timed
put 23 on the boost and try again.
when it's to slow ad 5 timing.
watch the temp.
If this not works. put back the 189
it feels like it gives more rpm

to all motors?
wich motor do you drive?

they are all 12 and not 0.
So as you have a Tekin and you put it on 0 you are always slower.
MACH does always crazy rules. just like the same end gear ratio.
Just let them follow the EFRA rules and don't make up those crazy rules.
But why do you want o drive a 13,5 on that track. I drove there last year one time with a element on 5 cell.
I will never do that again. the straight took ages. I eat, drink go to the toilet and still my car is on the straight.
I love that you can see your speed on the straight.
Buy a motor that you can't time. than you have always 12 timing at least on the motor.
