The design is the same as a Tamiya 416 spool.
That way when the spool wears you only need to replace the black plastic drive cups instead of the whole spool

anyone running on carpet tracks, if so wats the tire setup?
ok
i have bitten the M05 bug
it will replace my old and aging m03
i have bought one , the mini , with some TRF dampers and springs , adjustable upper arms , bearings , ball diff , propper drive shafts ,
what i need to know is what is a good base set up so it drives like my old M03 , as described on Mini RC as an old pair of slippers
my old faithfull m03 will be kept for keep sakes and retire with grace after winning me so many trophies and cups
any ideas guys

I'm having some problems, again, the the ball diff in my mini. Even though I have it cranked down pretty tight it's slipping badly. I can actually hold both front wheels and have someone else apply the throttle and there is hardly any torque being making it to the wheels. You can hear the motor and gears spin up real good, though.
Any thoughts on how to make this problem go away? I'm on my third ball diff in the past year and a half. The gear diff is looking real good right now.
Well, there are a couple of things you can do to get it close. Run the same tire combination as you did before, but run harder springs on the rear than you do on the front. If that's not working for you, run the same springs all around. Start with medium and go from there.
Add some weight to the nose I tacked 2 ounces of lead to the front of my M-05 tonight and got that old familiar feeling back, except that it doesn't traction roll anywhere near as much as the M-03.
Other than that it's all personal setup preference.

I dont know the TA03 internals but it would only fit if the TA03 uses 15 x 10 bearings to support the diff.

Hi guys!
The first r/c I enjoied was a M01 Fiat 600 Abarth (the very first was a nitro piece of crap). I raced it in a parking lot almost 10 years ago vs touring cars with success until I joined a club and started tt racing.
Now after thinking a lot, trying to choose between m03 or m05 I ended getting a M05 Fiat 500 Abarth as a tribute of my former mini. I didnīt search for information assuming the new model should be way better and now I read thatīs way far from the reallity. Maybe the fiat will end up as a shelf queen and get a M03 but Iīm gonna give it a chance for sure.
The kit and some upgrades are coming...

M-01 Manta Ray vs. TA-03 Ball diffs
My M-01 front wheels tends to vibrate during take off at full throttle. I'm still using the original bevel gear diff setup. I was hoping that the ball diff or spool setup will eliminate that, but I know the 3R spool setup does not fit the M-01. Now are both these ball diff sets mentioned above similar in all parts? What parts are different?
