Yeah metal seal & teflon seal. That's the differences hardly observe that. One which is heavier to roll & the other lighter...

The seal itself doesn't roll. With the metal seal it cannot come in contact with the inner bearing race or it will cause friction, so dust and small particles can get past the seal and ruin the bearing. The teflon seal is able to come in contact with the inner race without causing friction, this gives a better seal and a longer lasting bearing.

For some reason (no idea why) the 4x8 flanged bearings tend to lose their seal on my 416WE's, so just keep a watch on those and if they are starting to pop off you can push it back to make sure it seals good.

i had this prob the teflon seal does roll in my wheel axle. I took it out give it a knock the seal came out. i had the bearing serviced replace the seal with one's from old scrap bearing.

for the metal ones they do not come out. but u notice larger hole due to uneven inner balls from wear & tear.

for ther 4x8 i prefer to use metal sealed bearing. other ppl told me it's recommended to use ceramic bearings.

I got mine from Schumacher US website. I would order in bulk, cause the shipping was like, you know.

I don't know that the bearings of the X are teflon sealed, it's a funny grey mesh material.

as for the schumacher grease, it looks like the pros are moving on anyway. I ordered 4 tubs of the schumacher stuff a couple of weeks ago from podium rc in the UK and they still aren't here

p.s. can someone tell me if the X has aluminium or titanium turnbuckles?

The titanium turnbuckle is optional.. u have to buy seperately. if they would include in the kit it be more costlier & the price no longer competitive.

Speaking of turnbuckles, my kit had a rogue 35mm one instead of one of the 32mm's. Lucky I had a spare

First time in around 30 years of Tamiya kits that a part was missing.

As for tomorrow, go get 'em McPrez
