Sorry if I ask too much but could you explain this with a picture? (I am not english speaking and) I don't seem to get what you mean with "inner steering rod ball mounts"

No prob,s it's the "steering spacer" on the set up sheet. See attached. 5mm of spacers seem to be the standard setting for spool, 3-4mm is what you mainly see for 1-way

Hope you guys don't get mad about all my questions ... but could you please post some pictures of this Lipo tray into your 416?
I would like to see how you handled the connector-problem: my connectors touch the topdeck, and I had to dremel 1mm away to be able to mount my trakpower Lipo.
Also, when using this tray, I wonder how much clearance you have under the topdeck. I guess it will be a close one when using a "fat" hardcased Lipo as the Trakpower.

I was thinking of making a brass plate with some weight to mount on top of my Lipo ... but such a Lipo Tray as you presented lowers the weight and COG, which is always better, I guess.

thx!!

Yeah, I've been wondering what the deal was with this photo on all the blog pages. It's definitely not the WE...

No worries. I use top wire SMC lipos, so I don't have to worry about the deck messing with the connectors. Never tried any other batt. I'd post pics but I'm getting ready for a race this weekend and most of my batt stuff has shipped already.

I should have a better carpet setup next week.

has anyone heard of tamiya releasing alum. rear hubs? carbon ones are great but they wear out after making several roll center changes.

This is what the PPD looks like installed http://www.rctech.net/forum/4288790-post1712.html

I use SMCs too so don't have the plug issue, if you need to move the battery outside of the top deck get a bitty design tray and put a lead plate in the bottom. Here's Ben's pics of the bitty design tray fitted from the last page http://www.rctech.net/forum/4952879-post3022.html

I would think filing your top deck would affect the handling btw

If you are using 3mm of spacers on top then the 5mm screws don't bite enough, I ordered some of the 8mm screws and they work much better. I haven't heard of Tamiya coming out with any, but the square ones are great. FYI with 3mm of spacers they also dont bite the square ones enough - I stripped the top 2mm of my square ones in a hit so now have to use the longer screws

yah im using the longer 8mm or whatever the length is... then i made some changes (thinner spacers, switched to the 5mm ballstud)..but it strips pretty easily. im asking if tamiya makes one to keep my car TCS legal. but if square makes a set, a link would be awesome so i can purchase a set...... ill just order those and use it during club races. switch back for TCS.

btw... the 2.5mm is dialed. definitely prefer it over the 2.25 for 13.5 racing. if anyone wants my set up, PM me, ill send it over.
