I had another look at the pictures posted in this thread and from what I can tell the spool/diff in the EVO 8 seems to be the same as the one Tamiya has been using since the TB-04. That would make the spares easily available, along with the suspension from the TA-08 I don’t see any big issues with parts availability – am I wrong?

You are correct. The only issue you would have is if you bend a specific part such as a bulkhead. Then you would be at the mercy of the long beach port releasing the parts in less than 6 months to TamiyaUSA 🤦🏻

And then they discontinue the part soon after too, especially if it is an "MS", Evo, or TRF part. (bulkheads, chassis plate, etc.)

The official Tamiya website/store in Germany has it in stock now: https://www.tamiya.de/tamiya_en/cate...042383-en.html
We also should be seeing an uploaded manual very soon.

Got a notification from my shop that the kit will be shipped soon – hopeful I might get my hands on it this week still

My kit arrived this morning! Some quick notes:
• Unlike some pictures that are showing the plastic part (even the manual cover!), Tamiya was nice enough to pack in the carbon bumper support (same part as the TRF420X)
• Internal drive ratio is 2.5 as speculated before, the mesh is 06 module. The included spur is 66T and pinion is 23T for a 7.17:1 FDR
• The build allows for two different rear body post stays, default is like the TA08 but there are also parts for a wide positions like the TRF420
If you have any questions regarding the kit, part numbers, certain areas of the manual – let me know I will start assembling this evening.

Progress after parts bag B:

The one-piece aluminum diff housings are a work of art. Machined with precision and stunning quality, and so satisfying to assemble. I don’t want to know what they will cost as spares

I am not quite sure if that's what you mean, but Tamiya included a second set of top deck parts for the rear motor option:

(image upload somehow doesn't work for me right now)

Very nice car. Just a question. How much does that car weigh? Those bulkheads looks massive.
