Josh,
Yeah they are the new greens, mounted on prizm wheels. They are supposed be softer than the blues.
When you say scary, what do you mean?
Thanks for the help

When we were testing tires for vegas I had a chance to run the new green on the prizm wheel. Every time I tried them the car had so much steering that it was almost impossible to drive. We tried them on 3 different cars ......all had the same results.

I managed to track down the issue. There is some slop between the hex bolt on the servo saver tube and the steering bell crank. The hex does not fit snug. I resolved the issue by using epoxy to snug up the fit between the two. This eliminated any pull I was having during full power.
Howdy,
Relatively new to RC cars, and very new to TC5s. Grabbed a second hand one recently and popped a 3.5 LRP in it. When driving it, found that when accelerating up a straight, the car would wander a little one way, then the other way.
Spoke to the guy I bought it off, and he said it was most likely the servo (was just a cheap Spectrum 590). So had mate at hobby store pop in a new one (Ace RC, not sure of model, was about $70 AUS).
There is a bit less wandering, but it is still there. Had a bit of a fiddle with the steering and noticed a bit of play on the ball ends. I've had someone else suggest getting some RPM ball cups. Not sure of model, but seen RPM 73381 as Associated replacements.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for the problem, or parts that might help a newbie out in fixing the problem?
Cheers

You know, i absolutely love the TC5, i mean...you get X-ray and Corrally performance for $150 less but i must say that for a high end touring car it does seem to have alot more slop in the parts then the other cars do. I too have that slop in the steering and when i change over to the ITF chassis i will have to use that trick to remedy the slop.

Yeah the servo saver post just doesnt fit on the ITF chassis b/c that short little screw isnt quite short enough. You cant shim between the post and chassis b/c it raises the top deck. So I ended up using a really thin washer/shim between the screw and chassis. It is so thin the screw can go all the way down without sticking out but it makes up the difference.

Sweet, Amain actually had both ITF chassis places in stock. Josh, if you read this, YES i would have bought it from trackside if they had it in stock Kenny said it was on back order, and so did every other hobby shop local and online except for Amain. Just thought i'd head you off in case you would give me the lecture about buying from the local track like everyone else seems to do
