So I bought some Hudy balacing posts to put my TC5 on to get the chassis more balanced. To balance the chassis I had to add 2oz (approx. 56 grams) of weight to the right rear quarter of the car to balance it. I put 1oz on the rear area of battery strap, and 1oz on the chassis (between the batt and right rear suspension).
FYI - I use the Novak 13.5SS BL Motor and GTB speed control, Spectrum Receiver, Futaba S9550 servo, and IB4200 6-cell batt's.
Does this right? I know the Novak BL motors are heavier than brushed motors. Has anyone else had to add weight?

Here is my latest layout (to obtain a better balance between left and right -front to rear).
My car is 1410grams ready to race. (legal limit is 1375 grams with personal timing equipment)
It is not totally balanced but is only 13 grams out on the motor side.
I will test the new layout this weekend.
Equipment:
Servo: Futaba 451 Brushless
ESC: LRP TC spec
Rx: Futaba Fasst System
Motor: LRP 3.5t x11
Batts: LRP 4200UP Big Mama
PT: MRT Personal Transponder
I have used some duralium and titanium screws in some parts of the car.

Hi DirtyDog337
Your layout weight balance look like use a 6cell battery but without ESC, It seems the batttery side is too heavy
battery 370g + ESC 60g =430g
Motor 190g + servo 60g + Rx 20g =270g

Not sure about weights. I balance the car using a level and the Hudy balancing tool. (using Paul L's method). It does need a 13 gram weight behind the motor to have it fully balanced. But since the car is over the legal limit, I chose not to add more ballast weight at this time.
You can also use the holes in the shock mounts and some fishing line along with a level, that will give you the left to right balance as well.
Hope this helps.
- Leonard.

DirtyDog,
car looks great! I just ordered my spool. Do I need anything else for the spool kit? 31179.
thanks,
