We only included the ball diff in our first batch of XB2 kits. There may still be a few of the launch edition kits on dealer shelves, but any shipments from this second batch and going forward will be standard specifications.
We did receive some bodies with the recent shipment. They should start to appear at the dealers in the next few days. We are sending out quite a few parts along with the kits on this second batch, so availability will improve there too. The items being ordered for the XB2 are a bit different than anticipated from the XB4 history, so we are adjusting our stock levels. There are also some options that XRAY has not started shipping yet. We will probably need one more shipment to catch up to demand for some of the option parts and wheels. We should have it all sorted out in the next couple weeks.

Xray XB2 for 13.5T and 17.5 stock classes
With the release of the Xray XB2 Dirt Edition coming up shortly I have some questions for those of you running the 13.5T and 17.5T stock classes:
Would you need both a 69 and 72 spur gear to cover the need for correct gearing in these classes ?
Are slipper eliminators used in both of these classes or just for the 17.5T ?
What is the minimum weight allowed ?
Keeping in mind the XB2 is already sub 1500 grams with standard sized servo and standard shorty battery.
Meeting up with designer (Martin B.) and manufacturer (Juraj Hudy) tomorrow so it would be nice to have some reliable info ahead of this

Not sure about 13.5, but a slipper eliminator for 17.5 is a big advantage.
With my current buggy (2.6 internal ratio) I use 66 and 69 tooth spur gears.

I'll take the first shot...
Just 69...I think adding 72 right now would be a bit redundant. Most of us run 69T in 17.5 stock buggy.
I've only seen eliminators used in 17.5 classes, don't use one myself.
For weight it's 1499 grams.

17.5t for stock.
A 69t spur will be great.

Bent, Juraj and Martin may want to note that the TLR 22 buggies come with both their improved slipper for standard modified racing (that does not fit the smaller spur), and the parts to use a smaller spur for stock racing. That's how big 17.5 class is in the USA.
#879
This is not about having even more parts included in the kit but more so Xray being able to supply a factory optional off the shelf spur for stock racing with no need for modifications
The XB2 already have all the boxes ticked in the form of very light weight (no need for expensive options to lighten it) and an incredibly smooth running and lightweight drivetrain.
ECS double jointed rear drive shafts will also be available any time now and with the ultra lightweight and smooth gear diff it's a perfect base for a winning stock platform

I'm building my Carpet Ed these days. Malin's performance convinced me this is the right car for me. I just have to paint it pink now
On a more serious note. Is the quote above reflecting the latest and greatest way to ballpark the slipper settings for such late gen cars with masses forward as the Xb2? I won't be using the ball diff, but the trick is, hold rear, throttle, loosen slipper until front doesn't lift?
Other than that, the build quality is stunning... nothing less than I expected from Juraj and the boyz (and girlz ).
My next step is to go to the xray website and pick up a setup for mid-grip carpet...
Thanks,
Paul

I just pre-ordered my Dirt XB2.
What is the reason to use double jointed driveshaft in the rear?
