Aren't those 2 stripe progressive springs extremely hard? As in would be hard for carpet and not even in the clay spectrum?
This is a pretty basic setup. Seems like the only uncertainty is the springs. If the car just spins out when touching the brake you might want to adjust the brakes so that you have just enough brakes to slow down but not so much that it spins out. Maybe even add a tough of drag brake. Where are you on brakes for the radio and the speed control? Check the bearings in the rear hubs. All simple things that can kill any chance of having a shot at a good handling car. With 4 deg of toe your car shouldn't be far off for a lower grip track.

Well im at a turning point. Currently i run a losi 22 3.0 and im not happy with the car. I decided instead of buying the yearly freshie kit to go with something different. Currently i happen to use the yz2 bodys on my losi cars and i have just gotten a couple bodys painted up freshly. What im wondering is whether anyone has managed to fit a yz2 shell on the xray chassis. Not sure if i like the xray body that much

Thank you... what about the gear diff. I don't really want to run a ball diff so I was going to stick with the gear diff. What fluid would be good for clay? I can't remember what I have in it now but I think I saw a clay setup that was running like 2K or 3K?
Also wondering about yokomo outdrives. Can I use the YZ2/YZ4 outdrives in my xray diffs? or would I have to put the whole yz2 gear diff in the xb2 in order to use the yokomo outdrives?

for springs.. 1dot front and rear is fine.. depending on how tight your track is..
here are the ratings for the springs
Front
1dot is around a 3.3, this is a guestimate
2dot is 3.71
3dot is 4.11
4dot is 4.57
Rear
1dot is 2.0
2dot is 2.28
3dot is 2.57
4dot is 2.86
1dot to 3dot in front is a pretty big jump..
1dot to 2dot in rear is not that bad of a change.
