I didn't have time to experiment with Kyosho springs but put 40/35 oil in the shocks and its better but the front needs stiffer springs. It seems like the new white SC springs are pretty close to Kyosho golds. So, when I get a chance I'm gonna try sc kyosho yellows up font. Since I had to get 4 cars ready for tomorrows JBRL, I didn't have time to dig the yellows up.

What surface are you running on. Indoor/Outdoor and tires?

My setup on a low to mid traction indoor track.

Brass c mount, shorty at the back with a 30 gram battery weight behind it, rear hubs and atms forward, rear shocks on the inside hole, 2mm inside camber link, 3mm offset wheels with m4 electrons on the front and m4 electrons or ions sauced in the rear.

Truck handles good everywhere but is still a little unpredictable in the air. I'm going to try moving the shorty more towards the middle next outing.

Just my 2 cents

From my experience, mid motor short course respond well to higher levels of rear toe. I was running in dry, dusty, low/medium grip today with some insane wind blowing. Ended up dropping the rear oil weight to 30 and raising the front to 35. Also running a shorty at the rear of the tray (definitely better than the square). I've got the brass C and D on order. Flipped the rear camber link mount to the + position with 2mm under the ball stud as well and the truck was dang good. VERY fun to drive.

Ran my truck for the first time this weekend... started out Box Stock with aluminum hubs along with C & D blocks.

1. Make sure the stud in is the right hole... started out with positive camber in round 1 of qual's and took 3d. Round 2 of qual's with proper rear camber helped stick much better.

2. Ride height is not a true box stock measurement... I put the shock collars at stock setting, and I identified 3 wheel motion around the corners in round 2 of qual's. Talked to the other SC5M driver and he noted the measurements from the book did not meet right height requirements. Duh!!! Took 2d place in the AMain on a low/medium dusty track... 1st was the other SC5M driver.

Now it is time to start making minor adjustments to really get it dialed in... I'd like to drop some 3 hole pistons in, so if anyone has any advice I am open to a good starting point.

My son got his first day of racing with his sc5m, and I ha e to say after our little bit of missing parts from the build, I will probably be selling my 22sct 2.0. We ran it box stock except brass c and d blocks, and lowered the ride height to 29/28 ish. In the main he was consistently a second faster than me per lap. He has not touched a 2wd in about 8 months as he has been on a tekno platform. Great truck and very happy with my purchase

Which hole on the aluminum hubs did you use?

Got to watch a team Associated pro driver get to within 9/10sec of over all lap record at our local track last night. It was very impressive to see his truck in action. Lap record is held by another pro from Tlr with a 22.2 buggy.

Got my sc5 on the track today for the first time. Still have some tuning left and i was not on the throttle hard but I posted the fastest lap time and finished p1 for the first time this year. Consistently got better as I dialed it in. Qualified 5th and drove it thru field and finished 15 seconds over 2nd. This was outdoors on a dusty dry but fast track. box stock setup but moved to inside rear shock tower hole. Increased a couple mm on rear ride height. Chasers on rear, caliber fronts. Lots more speed left in this truck
Also of note, I'm running rear brass for c and d and it flew really well. Very little nosing over.

Ran a few laps with my daughters sc5m this past weekend. I still think the front is too soft for a track running slicks. But, I could drive the truck fairly hard without traction rolling. I think the truck jumps flat out of the box. Even my daughter who has close to 1 minute laps can make it jump flat. But, It is very sensitive to breaking or whipping. When I has an SC10, once it was in the air, it was hard to control. I feel this truck is very sensitive in the air. If you try to scrub a jump, you might nose under and front flip. Our track does not have any long distance jumps, that require you to "pin it to win it". So that might be the difference. Anyway, durability seems good. My front bearing are not getting gritty, so I wonder if AE made some changes in the last year to the front hubs and/or the black seal bearings. Anyway, in short. The truck is still much better than I was expecting it to be. This weekend I might race it to shake it out. I really need some different front springs. If anyone has a good kyosho front spring for track tracking running slicks and wet tacky clay, I am listening

I am sure it has been asked but does anyone know when the new style springs will be available for these trucks?
