Welcome to the SCT410.3 Wiki!

7.26.17 - BB
In order to run the recommended team setup, you need the following optional parts:
TKR6106 Orange LF Springs
TKR6114 Green LF Springs
TKR6018 composite shock caps (built to emulsion) OR TKR8702 Aluminum Emulsion Shock caps
TKR8027 Shock Stand Offs
TKR6051 8x1.3 pistons(drilled to 1.4mm)
TKR8104 .4 bellcranks
TKR8100 .4 ackerman
TKR5545B HRC Hubs
You also need the Aluminum C Block (others can stay composite)

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

TKR5161 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “A” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5163 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “C” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5545B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, SCT.3/SL) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Allows harder acceleration on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6004T (front)
-TKR6017T (rear)

What spare parts should I keep on hand?
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR5516 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5515 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5542 – Spindle Carriers - TKR5541B Spindles
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Use steering stops/limiter washers... more info here.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Hinge Pin Insert Chart:

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

managed to take the win at what I think will be our annual larger race with the truck. Changed tires for the main versus the blockade M4s and freed up the car a bit more than I would like but was still very driveable.

Still a bit noisy transmission wise, I may play around to see where this is coming from but sounds like rear area.

As for diffs I am thinking going down front and center to 10K from 15K AE oil but leave the rear I am thinking at 5K where it is now. I want a bit more offpower rotation similar to what I had when running 7-7-3 previously from one of the loose setups provided.

All in all though, vehicle just darn near drives itself. Very fast and hooks up.

I didn't measure the overall. The team just told us take 6mm off (3 off each end) and it works.

With this setup you don't run the mid or rear chassis brace?

We never run those braces with any of our setups

For the SCT, I would say no. For the 8th scales, with bigger power, yes.

The composite does a good job with the demands of SCT. They also do with 4S+ power systems, I just like a little more peace of mind.

I asked Ryan about the aluminum upgrades, and he prefers to keep everything stock to keep lightweight. So he usually doesn't run any aluminum. If it's good enough for him....I'll run it. I've also been running the composite on my eb48.4 since this spring when I built it. It's still fine.

anyone recommend a good starting set up with stock pistons for a medium 8th scale track , rutted ,dusty, blue groove? Would the stock set up be a great starting point for this?

Hey all,

Returning to RC after about 15 years. Built an SC5M which is a total blast to drive, recently pulled the trigger on an SCT410.3 kit. Have ordered several option parts as well, really looking forward to getting the build going.

I have actually read 90% of this thread so won't be asking what powertrain, tires etc. but I do wonder what y'all think as far as wheels. I've heard tell the JConcepts Hazards for SCTE are a bad match. The Duratrax ones look nice. I know those DE Borrego wheels fit but I guess I don't like the look as much. Which I'll never notice or care about when it's running..

I'm mainly going to run on an indoor blue-groove type surface (Mhor RC in Aurora, CO) and have been trying to get the SC5M set for that as well. Lots of experiments & lots of failures.

The only other real place we have around here (to my knowledge) is the big, dusty 1/8 scale oriented track in Longmont. Personally I would rather wait & drive on a surface where I don't have to worry about getting small rocks stuck everywhere but that loose outdoor track does look fun!

I run the Hazard wheels with no issues. Here's the link for the ones I use. Not sure what issues others have had. Maybe they got the wrong ones?

The offset machined hexes (they are like +1mm) help with some team losi scte wheels I have used where you can the webbing hits on the vehicle.

I have both TKR5571A and TKR5571M and have no issues. I think it's the TLR branded rims that have the webbing that hits, not the JC.

I've got some older Pro-line rims where it hits. The +1 hexes fixed it.

Alright, I'm going to try those Hazards out. Really into the white wheels with a dark colored body right now. Thanks guys, just waiting on a package from Amain to get started. Going with a steel spur gear & as you know that definitely impacts the first steps.

Then I have a brand new composite spur gear if I ever need one. Everybody wins, even the neglected composite part.
