It's usually about operator error. People who don't use locktite on the motor clamping screws or who don't set the gear mesh properly. It does help to replace the button head clamping screws with cap head ones, so you can tighten them down more. And use locktite. Still on my original spur gear.

Accidents happen, I don't think it's a manufacturing issue. I drove all summer on dirt and clay tracks and I'm still on my first one. And on my way out the door for a second practice day at a carpet track...

Well yesterday attended the grand re-opening of NEORCRC track in I OH. It was a pretty big turn out for trophy race and with some great fast competition here in NE OH. This was the first time I had the D413 on a 1/8 sized track and the car performed great and even took some nasty tumbles and still kept driving. Since it was such a large turn out only ran 2 Quals and Mains.
In the quals the buggy felt great, but seemed like something missing, so just before mains and with some advice from friends Burns and Shay, fellow D413 owners, switched my shocks from Bladder to Emulsion style just before mains. Once our main was up took my warm up laps and the D413 with emulsions felt dialed.... WOW I wished I would had done that earlier in the day. This is only my 4th week running the D413 and I qualified 5th and I ended up taking 3rd in Amain with some fast competition. I had 2nd on lock down, but made a mistake in the nasty washboard section.... that was a live or die section, LOL.

Ohh yea also tested out the durability of the D413 with a another D413... Burns landed a little squirrely on a kicker and I didn't see him in time, and I as I landed and he took off from next jump he was donkey kicked and I hit his car full meat on my take off. We both flew up in air a good 8ft and dropped like a stone.... we bounced a couple times and landed on wheels and both took off driving.... I luv this car.... LOL
It was interesting to see how many B44s didn't make it thru the day or into mains from tumbles or breaks.

So working on my setup on my new D413 yesterday and I have some confusion about some of the rear toe settings. If you look at the attached picture at the blue highlighted section, it appears that this is referring to the shims between the arm pin blocks and the diff housing which would adjust toe (on Ty's sheet it appears it is indicating 5mm shims at the front of the arm and 2mm at the rear).
In the pink highlighted section, it appears to indicate that it has 2mm shim at the rear and 0.5mm at the front.
What am I missing here?

on high bite clay rear of the car wants to come around and has too much steering. what do I need to change to get the steering to decrease or should I go up in the rear diff oil so the car does not diff out?
