I'm still running mine, trying to sharpen the tool behind the wheel before I decide to upgrade to a newer model.

So far I have ran 6 batteries on turf with the slipper eliminator. So far so good. I have not had anything blow up yet.

Most of the parts are interchangeable from the original xb4 to the 17 car, but yes the 14 car uses saddles

Can you get a centre diff for the 14? Or is it just slipper?

If you look far enough back in this thread you'll find that some had successfully converted the 14 chassis to a shorty layout and included the center diff if I'm not mistaken. The center diff won't fit with the saddle layout though.

This type of modification will likely be more of a headache than it's worth, you're better off to buy a used 15, 16 or 17.

Has anyone tried running 20k diff oil in an xb4 with just 1 diff pin and 2 satellite gears in both front and rear diff ? Seems to be a way to extend diff oil change intervals in other platforms ...

Just tuning stuff like springs/roll bars/pistons. I like to carry arms, hinge pins, ball cups to races. About 15 races on mine w/ a dozen at a metal jump track and have broke 1 arm which bent the hingepin. Schelle and avid make some machined pistons which are nice. The build is great(except for slipper on the 16), car drives good and is super durable. Easy to maintain, the easiest to work on, no shimming/jamming orings in outdrives. Biggest problem I have is e-clips holding piston on shaft. Never had a problem w/ them but I don't like e-clips.
