Yepp, not needed..... At all. Just a waste of mony, right Bentka?.... Just lube em up, takes a couple of minutes....
Might be a bandaid for something that won`t happend if you follow the manual at all times.....
Or: might be smart to use so you are compleatly shure it wont happend? Just sayin... ;-)

YES……you HAVE to buy them……at least now with the Xray logo and all….if not pins will start popping out any time now
Still no pins popping out of ours after 1+ year of racing with the plastic collars……..but I guess we're just lucky
Will buy the Xray cups for the bling factor though to dress up Malin's rides
And I found it "interesting" that you now stated you change drive pins on the 1/8th scale in the XB8 thread when you previously stated this was just a marketing scheme from Xray……..
Putting you on my ignore list from now on Anders to keep this thread clean

I NEVER had an issue with the pins either but I WANT to knock on wood and be 1 of the lucky ones not to experience it.
my buddy on Tuesday had his go through but they were very dry and he forgot to lube them (lesson learned)
Will I be purchasing some? Yes but I'm not in a hurry

I have had an issue on my older XB4 with the front center pin poking a hole through the plastic collar, which is why i'm happy to buy the aluminum ones.

I could see the center diff option being nice, can't see a need for metal gears thou.
Ran my 13 car for over a year with zero stripped gears and no pin issues with the plastic DVD cups.
Sold it and just bought a 14 car. Only added the aluminum drive cups for bling
Solid platform

Bent, i have never said i have changed a pins on my Xray... I just buildt a new car for our nats and kept the old one for spares thats not needed. See copy of the post below.
You should not call me tool, when you live in complete denail and not open for anyone elses view on things. You are right and thats it!! in our opinion.
The only reason you put me on your ignore list, is because you cant handle me putting you on the spot. You can not even agree with me and say that this is a smart thing to have on your car, even if it is not a must have item. I have never said that it is a must have item, but if you are smart, you put it on your car because there is one less thing that can go wrong. To think like that, comes with experience.

You see, you do not change parts on an Xray :-) I know that the Kyosho guys here changed theese parts evry race:
Delrin and orings bottom shocks.
Front upper arm, and lover arm just to be shure that it just would not snapp...
inserts in evry aluminum part. Or they had to glue them to the alu just so the car would not get sloppy..
And some times, they did not get the insert out so they had to change the aluminum parts.
I saw several Mp9 TKI3 that were so sloppy after baout 12-15 liters, that the car was compleatly worn out! ( guys that did not glue inserts )not just the plastic, but castor Blocks and rear rear uprights just because the plastic moves in the aluminum...Now you start talking expensive!
What you will change on a Xray XB9 13 is drivepins and CVD joints/pins. Thats it! This is for our country and our kind of tracks.
