Be a good base if you don't have any electronics or anything to get going with then add the FT parts to convert it to more of the Factory Team version. First upgrade you should do is put on the big bore threaded shocks for tunability.

I would agree that the shock bodies would help some with tuning the ride height just right. I prefer them over the clips.

I am starting to really consider this kit since we now will have an eBuggy class in Brazil. Do you think I could use my two 4000mAH shorty packs in series in this car?

5) Diff outdrives: not aluminum --> Standard steel

8) Hinge Pins: not TiN
9) Hinge Pin plates: steel not aluminum
10) Rear Wing: stock AE not JConcepts Illusion
11) Motor Mount: single piece not FT adjustable

I do see slight performance gains from CVAs and the sheer weight reductions from the FT parts. Durability should be really good with all the steel parts. So for an entry Race Spec kit this is very attractive to me. I can through in a DS1015 servo off my 10th scales and swap out the receiver for my Spektrum DX3S and all I need is new batteries. The mount accepts dual 2S backs which I have from my 10th scale cars so that could be pretty good.

What mAH battery is good for this to last 10 minutes?
You also missed chassis braces, plastic instead of aluminum (a fellow racer with the identical car broke his at the track, which bent the rear driveshaft).

Only lost one shock clip so far. I can live with the shocks, the first upgrade is servo. Mine lasted < 45 minutes, a fellow at the track - his lasted < two months of ownership and it was broke waiting for parts some of that time.

My motor also seized, not sure if that is an anomoly or not, but the servo by all reports coming in, is garbage.

Don't know how shorty packs will fit, but my 4S 5200 mAh battery will run for 30 minutes on the track. Two batteries last me all day.

I'm sorry but the RC8.2e FT kit doesn't come with aluminum chassis braces. It comes with the same ones that the RTR has.

The battery box will accept 2 2S Lipos installed on their side. this requires and "Y" cable. Two shorty packs are just shorter. So 5200mAH lasts 30 minutes so 4000mAH should last at least 15 minutes.

I am a huge Losi Guy and I purchased this RC8.2E this Saturday for my 14 year old son .
we un-boxed it and put a personal transponder in it that's it.
He won the C main with it so for out of the box hands down the best on market
and I have been around this stuff since about 1984

There is always upgrades in this hobby and this one don't need much as far as I can see!!!!

Any idea what the top speed out of the box with a 4S would be?

What size pinion would you use just for speed runs?

I know this is a pretty old thread but just in case you were wondering. With stock XP esc and Reedy 2000kv motor using a 5000mah 4s lipo @ 20~30c, I was getting speeds of around 42 mph. That's plenty for most outdoor dirt tracks.

Has anyone had good luck with a different steering servo on the stock ESC? I would like a performance improvement with out any glitching or buzz...
