Associated also updated their price list here -- teamassociated dot com/pdf/map-policy-pricing.pdf

It will not let me post the link, so I pulled it apart a little.

It shows the following. $499 sounds pretty promising to me.

Part Description MSRP MAP
80908 RC8.2e RTR $829.99 $499.98

This RTR for 499 -~100$ from towerhobbies discounts will hit the market!

They now have a full listing of the product on their website. Including a promo video. Looks like it will need new shocks and Rx/Tx and should be pretty good to go.

The Shocks are actually really good in terms of performance! It share the same hard anodized shock cap and boots from the Factory Team kit, and dimensionally the shock body is the same as the Factory Team aside from not being threaded and hard anodizing. Overall, excellent performance for the price!

The main performance parts are the same and can be used the same pistons upgrades too? This car will be a good kit for my friends put away the 1/10ths and join me to 1/8th!:tire:

Dam man i wish i would of waited before i got my scte if i knew this one was coming out ! Its going to be hard to beat as far as a quality on a RTR 1/8 E buggy .

Excellent drivetrain and strong and handles good and the price is dam good !

I am wondering though when the upgrades for the RC8TCE are coming out ? its time .

I would rather have the current one. They didn't fix the main problems and downgraded the electronics. Lame.

There isn't a current RTR 1/8 scale buggy, unless you are refering to the SC8?

And extensive testing has gone into the esc and motor to ensure that it had great speed, reliability and "feel".

Oops, was thinking sc.

Doesnt the SC8 share the same chassis as the RC8T (truggy)?

That's Correct.

DoogieLee 07-09-2012 06:45 PM

Thats what I thought, didnt want anyone to get confused by TC5's statement that it was basically an e buggy with an SC body.

I really really really really wish AE would've just slightly shrunken and lightened up the RC8 enough to put an SC body on it and make it hit ROAR specs as a 1/10 4x4 SC.

ilanstylz 07-09-2012 06:48 PM

Looks good, but I don't like how the RTR went back to using the older style motor mount. I always had issue's with my old rc8be which is why I upgraded it to the elite mount. I think I'll go with the Kit instead.
