For those that have used a VW body does it last longer? With the tires being exposed there is less surface to crack.

Another option is the Dubro body clip retainers. The come in whatever color you want. Just make sure you make the retainer hole the right size and they will stay put even after a good rollover.

To be honest, I haven't used it much - really just when having a little fun off the track, so not through any rough and tumble or jumps. I still prefer my SC body. If I really do something drastic one day it would be to convert it to an 8ight-E.

I agree that I don't get it much, and I'm not a VW fan, but since it was free, and it makes me smile what a totally different attitude it brings to the same underpinnings. I certainly wouldn't have done it myself.

TCC, how do you like the Proline Ion's? I am going to run indoor clay and was thinking about this tire choice. Guess I could run suburbs, barcodes or rattlers (all look the same anyway lol) or pressure points. Just wanted a report on your opinion on one of the newer high grip clay tires. Thanks

I've looked back several pages, and search is not turning up what I want to find. So far I bought a new sct ten, odered tekin 4000kv pro 4, rx8, 7954 hi-tech servo, (still waiting on electronics) and put on rpm a arms and bumpers, changed diff grease to oil and bought a 8 body to use as an overtray.

Stock towers and shocks don't look to impressive, and I want to use 8th shocks, and prefer to stick with losi. I'm just building this for fun. Can someone tell me (as if I were a newb) exactly what to buy to properly convert this to run 8th shocks and tower's.

Budget is not an issue, I just want to do it right, and once.

I have the Stock RtR and the steering servo developed a lot of slop, so i changed it out to a savox 1256 out of my d8 and now the servo goes crazy when you try to move it. Ive tried two savox servos and they both do the same thing, Put the old on back in and it works flawless but still obviously has the slop. Anyone had this issue? Why would would one servo be twitchy and cut out and the stock wont?

it's a combination of things:

1) the savox servo draws more power than the stock servo
2) the internal BEC of the esc is weak and can't handle the additional amp draw
3) the spektrum receiver is very sensitive to power sag and will brown out much easier than other brands.

so the solution is to try a glitch buster capacitor like this one:
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...iver-Capacitor

that may eliminate the issue, or get an external BEC like this one:
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...Adjustable-BEC

that should definitely eliminate the problem.

I would go straight to the external bec. A cap will just be a band aid. And the cap might work for a while but if the bec gets any weaker over time it will start acting up again. Save time and money and get the bec. You will probably need it down the road anyways with that esc.
