Allot of variables that go into it. 17.5 is so on edge you can be ok one round, and if they water the track you will cook it (grip went up, loaded motor more)
The VST is low on kv, BUT is very high on Watts (Torque), this formula tends to let you run more gear (I have run as high as 38/70 on a TLR 22 - Which is geared higher internally than a B4), but I was down in the 15-20 deg range of timing. You have to test and experiment.

Just thought I'd drop in a quick note about my Viper powered XFactory X60. After the TQ and win last week I had a bunch of people asking me how my truck was so fast yet so controllable. Nobody believed me that I was running a 10.5 with no timing on the esc.....put it in Blinky mode. Motor came off after an 8 minute main at 100 degrees and had all the low and top end anyone could ask for. I let a couple guys drive it after the main, needless to say the shop owner had to order 3 10.5 combos for the guys. They couldn't believe just how smooth yet powerful the system was. 3 "converts" in 5 minutes of driving, gotta love it!
i ordered a viper 10.5 for it. what gearing are you using?

TQ'd and took 3rd not too bad for a NEXX 10SC and a 150 dollar Viper coperhead combo against Losi and SC10 4x4's some with tekin 4 poles

Jeremy- when you plug in the ProGauge - what does it tell you? Is there a software program listed? Does the steering work properly?
aprilliamille - I ran 86/23 with a 9.5 last year, maybe 24-25 depending on track with a 10.5. Don't forget to check temps when you start out to help verify.
Mugen - Congrats, not to shabby....

Steering works, can't go into programming mode.Oh and it is on a30. Tried a different motor still the same. Put in a buddies 10r with the original motor everything was good. You know how it beeps but will not go through the whole "song" if the radio is not on? it does that too. I could not re-calibrate to my radio. A viper sponsored driver told me that he had the exact same problem and was told it was a loss of memory on the esc. Also I can't turn it off once it is on.

Any guess when the copperhead 4 pole VX4R.45 motor will be out by themselves?

Try this:
Plug in the battery, power on the radio, turn on the esc. If it is still not syncing with the radio, then unplug it from the receiver while it is still on. You should get the "N" light then. Take it to programming mode and plug in the ProGauge and link it. You will probably get something that says "Profile ##" or something like that. Try loading a different profile and save the settings.
Once you have done that, power it down. Unplug the battery for a coupple of minutes. Hook it to the receiver and go right into calibration and re-calibrate.

MNRC Round #1 Win
Took the TQ and Win this weekend in 2wd SCT in Staples, MN for the Minnesota Off-Road Series. Thought I would post my setup for people to use. For a slick track with a d 6.5 motor, this was a very fun setup and worked very well in the slick conditions.
I also qualified 2nd in 4wd SCT Running Copperhead R.51, and took the win at the end of the main. The truck was amazing and had power everywhere on the track
Copperhead Setup:
Losi SCTE
13T Pinion / 40 Spur
Punch 3
Motor Timing 1
Brakes 8
Start power 6
Drag Brake 0
