OK, Got a problem with my rear shocks on my XT8.
I am running 36mm ride height, 37.5wt oil,50% rebound, red o-rings ,ribbed bladders and foam componsaters, 1.1mm x 10 hole pistons, everything is mint condition.
What is happening is that during the finals all the dampening seems to fade away after around 10mins making the car really loose on power.
I have changed oil brands aswell but still the same issue.
Dont know what to do next?
Thanks.

Im running the exact same setup apart from the oils in mine and its pretty good, i get a little "sag" through the race but that happens with all brands.

No sign of leaks and yes the feel is the loss of rebound.
I did notice that the length of the travel in the shock will hit the bladder if completly bottomed out and thought this was the case so i added a o-ring to the bottom of the shock shaft to prevent this bottoming out but that didnt help either.

Hmmm not too sure then, are the bladders old? I usually replace mine before a large meeting, go through 3 sets a year or so.
You seem to be doing all the right things... Once you do your long runs if you pull the shock apart i presume the rebound isnt there? Is the oil dirty or clean?

Hi,
One thing i tryed is 1.3X8 hole pistons with 60wt oil front and rear the heavier oil seamed to keep the rebound and pack we were looking for. We ran 37.5wt Losi oil as well and found it to fade out. All the rest is the exact same thing we run.... other thing we run violet springs up front and purple on the rear, The Truggy feels a little dowie at warm up but Jaicob recons 5 min in and it settles right down and feels constant through a Amain...

Jaicob would like to thank HEI International for the 2011 race season with the Xray, Hudy products. We had a fantastic time and really are looking towards next year with Xray, Hudy, Ko Propo, and Novarossi. And the New XB9 for 2012.

We would like to also thank HEI for all the support this year. Brent managed to get his first podium results in some of the bigger races over here in W.A this year and it is all thanks to the products that HEI have supplied. Brents first real result came at the Bunbury round of the challenge cup coming in 3rd in the final. He also managed a 2nd at one of the Radio Rally club masters rounds and a 3rd at the MORBC classic.
The XRAY 2011 XB808 is the best car we have ever run. The Novarossi Plus4 BTT engine did not miss a beat and the run time and smooth power delivery is 2nd to none. We also ran Proline tires and when the new Blockade came out the 2011 was upto a 1sec a lap faster on these tires. A great leap forward by proline.
We are really looking forward to 2012 and the new XB9 platform.
Regards
Shane and Brent Thomas

We had our Finals for a series called the King of white man over the weekend, We had a great night and really enjoyed the night racing and atmosphere. We had a good run in the Truggy coming in second just behind young Jordan also a Xray driver, running a Heavier set up than normal the Xt8 really looked great on the track..
Buggy we had some mechanical issues that we just could not shake but in the end found the problem... All in all was a good night and congrats to the winners..

I ran the 808 '11 at the Tassie Champs on the weekend, car was excellent.
The setup is attached (mid traction, hard packed, smooth surface). Shock package was 600cst (Core R/C) fluid, 8*1.3mm pistons, ribbed bladders, foam behind the bladder, 80% rebound, max droop, short blue-grey springs front and rear.
Thanks to Simon Kernan for setup help a few weeks back.
