Here is a example . 2014 reedy race roar rules as follows.

All batteries, motors and wheels must comply to ROAR rules.

2wd weight limit = 1499g

4wd weight limit = 1613g

Battery voltage not to exceed 8.40v. *Subject to random inspection

ROAR rules govern all other technical specifications.

All heat races are 5 minutes in length.

And this is the wording from the rule book. Hope this clears up any confusion on the rule.

Li-poly battery packs must be charged with chargers capable of the industry standard CC/CV (Constant Current/Constant Voltage) charge profile. No other charge profiles are permitted.
Li-Poly battery maximum charge voltage.
 1s Li-Poly batteries may be charged to a maximum of 4.20v.
 2s Li-Poly batteries may be charged to a maximum of 8.40v.
 3s Li-Poly batteries may be charged to a maximum of 12.6v
 4s Li-poly batteries may be charged to a maximum of 16.80v.
 2S LiFe batteries may be charged to a maximum of 7.40v.
 There will be no allowances for overages.

Checked my itinerary when I got to work today, the dates I was asked if I could travel are different than my tickets. I will be out of town for work the week before this race. Guess who's got two thumbs and is super excited to attend this race? This guy!

Question....
ROAR for all classes or just Stock???
I understand all batteries 8.4 max.

I believe Roar bans the 4 pole 550 can?

That knocks a lot of people out....

Please clarify as soon as possible.

Guys it's really Simple.. Keep you stuff legal. PERIOD!! These are Toy Cars and were competing for a trophy.. Let your driving do the talking.

We are using ROAR as a guideline ONLY.. Our Biggest concern is Blinky/Stock Classes as this is where most of the Rule infractions seem to be coming from. 8.4v and TRUE Blinky Mode. We have always ran an open Motor program in 4x4 and Mod Classes and don't foresee that changing anytime soon.

Keep the Voltage at 8.4v and the ESC in a Legal Blinky Mode and there will be no problems..

How about AKA EVO wheels? They technically aren't ROAR legal, will they be allowed at the event?

There is a way to mount them on standard wheels, but its an awful lot of work. Using Evo wheels is much easier. Thanks for the clarification.

So using roar as a guideline, will weight and width also be checked? If you're going to check battery voltage, you mite as well have a motor tear down check before the the races like leisure hours does as well. Don't threaten to tech and then not do so, because a lot of time is put in by a lot of us to make sure we're at those min/max marks. Not to down the Trackside crew, but during the entirety of Spektrum week, two out of the 140 or so blinky entries were teched.
