Asphalt Assault 2012
 

It is time for the new thread and all of the Solara smack talk to begin here.

The 2012 season will drop to 4 dates this year at all of the same great facilities we have run in the past. However,one date will be a double points race.:sneaky:

All of your dreams have come true, Leisure Hours will host the finale in what should prove to showcase the best that the greater Chicagoland has to offer prior to the nationals.

We are still working on the final class structure that will make sense for all of the area racers that may be attending this year's nationals.

As of now we know that the following will run;


21.5 2wd M-Chassis
21.5 190mm Rubber Tire F1
USGT
USVTA
17.5 ROAR "blinky" Stock Touring

We will be adding a second faster sedan class, just which one that will work for ALL four facilities.

Mark your calendars off for the following dates.

May 20 @ Harbor, June 10 @ Strictlt RC, July 8 @ Al's Hobby, and August 12 @ Leisure Hours Raceway

More details to follow in the coming weeks

will there be a drop or not? i guess not - would create havok with the double points race. how would you decide which one will be double - pick a number out of a hat after the last race?

great to hear that all the folks that work so hard to put this on are willing to do it again this year. thank you!

Howard is an on-road stock slash master. he must be a pavement god, he beat me half the time in st. charles.

Did you schedule the race @ Al's so it won't rain that day ? :lol:

Other than the finale at Leisure, are there locations to go along with the dates ?

Minis have gone brushless. Cool! I knew putting that Mongoose in my M05 was going to pay off. Now I just wish I wouldn't have sold that extra 21.5 motor. They're not going to allow boost in this class, are they?

You guys should call this SOLARA's Asphalt ASSault 2012....I like that title. :D

For real, I would not race anything outdoor except 4.5 with boost...no more slow crap stock motor and little car....man up and race the FAST stuff. I just can't stand racing with these slow guy and I have to slow myself down so they can catch up....

P.S...OK, do I make everyone attention now? Have a good weekend guys...

This is summer outdoor racing Mod is a must! I havent even seen an RC car in years and would run mod.

I have added these races to the RC Event Google Calander @ Link Me to Google R/C Racing calendar

That would be the only fair way to do it. Besides it's carefully managed chaos, and I like chaos.

I've got an extra 21.5 if you need it. i don't think boost will be allowed.

I hope I'm not the only one who got that one.

Will USGT have the same Solaris Spec Tire that we had in 2011?

I was talking with Eric, on Saturday and he likes the idea of treaded tires.

sorry...out of the loop Noob.

What premount treaded tires are people racing with outdoors? Treaded with spokes would look cool!

I liked the solaris tires. kept it simple and could use them in other classes.

if they do go to treaded tires, how many different kinds are legal, what works best, etc.? i can feel my wallet getting lighter already :lol:

AA will stay with a spec tire/s and use the KISS approach.

We are working on it, if the spec tire does not coincide with the ROAR nats, or at least close then can you imagine the uproar that will insue?:lol:

Was talking to Jucha today and didn't realize treaded tires were not premounts...

Eric - for usgt, any spec tire will be great for this class. x-patterns keep it in alignment with the rest of the world. just stick to one brand/pattern/compound. as for the nats, i don't think usgt will be a class.

21.5 with gt bodies is being discussed by ROAR as a possibility for a class. As far as implementation for the nats, nobody knows.

If it's premount X-patterns...cool :P I don't want to glue my fingers together making tires.

He got 3rd in Stock.... (yes the A main)....

And he hold his 3rd place trophies and car way up high (higher then his chest) so it can made the picture....:D
