Asphalt Assault - The Final Assault Videos

Had a blast watching you guys and gals finish up your series at Leisure Hours Raceway. I think I managed to capture all of the first two rounds on video.
You will have to pardon some spots where my arm and eyes were starting to tire. There was no way I could keep on filming the whole day. These 4.5 hours had me googlie-eyed before the third round could start.
The videos are uploaded. 25 total, I will be piecing together race 7 or 8 from the first round. The camera battery needed to be changed just as the race began. Other than that, what I have besides the pit videos is all uploaded.
Till then, you can start to enjoy the playlist here......

Miller commented earlier how great the music was. Watching these races again I can agree with him. I had to laugh when Round 2 of the Mini's was raced to Foghat's "Slow Ride".

Looking forward to catching some of the Nationals too. You guys are giving me some great camera practice.

The videos are uploading now and the complete upload of 27 races will be complete by tomorrow evening.

Great videos....but next time, I think you can probably get up to the stand and request for the video taping...I think if you are near the scoring station they will let you film it as long as you are not blocking the left view from the drivers looking to the left....higher view should have a better capture of the race.

Yeah, when I was setting up I was up there. But there was quite a few drivers up there and I did not want to become a distraction. No way I could have fit up there during that first heat of VTA though. Scott was really helpful getting me up and running with power where I was and I just made it my home after that.

I think being up there for the Nationals would not be advisable, so I was doing a test from under the stand.
Your feedback is well received though.

Please post the final points. Again, thanks for all your hard work on the series. Thanks to everyone else too! I'm already getting ready for next year :)

1st Rich 399 (total points with drop)
2nd Peter 396
3rd Ken 389 (tie, not sure of tiebreaker, Ken had a higher place finish then Jeff)
3rd Jeff 389
5th Kevin 388
6th Howard 385 (Eric scored him as 14th in the LH main as he DNS)
7th Mark 383
8th AJ 376
9th Bob 372
10th Gary 366
11th Jim 365
12th Bill 356
13th Matt 350

Talked to Eric before leaving LH and he said I had 3rd in VTA + USGT. Did have 3rd going into LH.
Usually the way things go with Ties is the throwout becomes the tie breaker. If that does not do it then finishing positions' can become important. Ken DNS on the A-main at LH. Even though LH became my throwout for both classes it still played a factor for breaking the tie.

Congrats Jeff. Wish I could have done better but 2 DNF's really hurt me. Howard could have done a lot better too as he TQ'd the last race. But hey, that's racing.

The results in my post are just my views and in no way can be used can be used as official results without the express written consent of the AAL :ha: And no, I don't have any other class results.

I know Eric had issues with LH using their computer. If they used his, then he could have automatically got the totals and posted them. He also had issues with LH deleting some people that left before the mains.

Still, it was another fun year of great racing with great people. We have to do it again next year

I am sure Eric is making sure it is right. Manually doing scoring is not really fun for the last race.

Agree with your quote.

Liked having 2 rounds and the mains. Which is something good for a smaller day and a happier wife.

On the HUGE layout, that was used all summer, I know that some were gearing between 3.4 and 2.8 fdr. I ran a 3.31 with a LRP X12 and it never got over 165 degrees. I think they are running a smaller layout for Nats. so gearing may be a little different.
